The NRG game planNRG is a different kind of energy company with a game plan for changing the way people think about and use electricity.
Across the line of scrimmage are brutes like competition, stagnation and changing environmental responsibilities. So we have to call the right play.
A diverse power generation portfolio with natural gas, coal, oil, nuclear, wind and solar at its core ensures safe, affordable energy for our customers. In addition to our retail electricity providers and a suite of energy solutions that give people the power they deserve the way they want it, these fundamentals keep us on the field, but endurance and innovation get us down it.
Sustainability gives NRG the endurance to keep driving. And with great field position we can call the bold play that doesn’t just reach for a few extra yards – it gets us to the end zone and the win.
With innovative energy solutions, NRG isn’t calling an audible; we’re changing the game.
We step into long, difficult passes because NRG sees the whole field and has the best players on it.

NRG is the official power provider for the site of the 2014 pro football
championship, and we’re bringing it to light with a complete power solution
showcasing renewable energy in a sensational display.
Encircling MetLife Stadium’s top level is the NRG Solar Ring.TM 1,350 solar
panels generate electricity on-site for the stadium and illuminate vibrant
LED lights incorporated throughout. In all, the installation produces
25 times the power needed for the lights.
MetLife Stadium is the only stadium in the nation that is home to two
different NFL teams, so the ring shines bright with either home team’s
colors on game night. And while the color change from green to blue
is important, it doesn’t stop there; the ring can display infinite colors,
creating a striking scene for any event in the venue.

NRG was against the clock when it came to integrating renewable
technologies at FedExField. A very tight timetable was required, so this was a
no-huddle project that only NRG could execute.
Contract signing to final installation took just three months — despite
back-to-back interruptions from an earthquake and a hurricane. NRG provided
the stadium with the ability to generate more than 2 MW of peak power
on-site — the largest solar power installation in the metropolitan D.C. area.
Solar panels have been incorporated into the parking structure, providing
clean power and protection from the elements. Translucent and traditional
panels have also been built into the entry ramps and other architectural
elements. Beyond the squares and rectangles, thin solar film lines the top of
a 30-foot statue of a quarterback near the entrance, known as Solar Man.
Capping off the project are 10 NRG eVgo charging stations that allow fans
to charge their electric vehicles before heading home.

The NRG team delivered a stadium-wide energy solution to Lincoln
Financial Field that combines wind-and solar-powered elements. The
project consists of more than 11,000 solar panels placed on the south
facade of the stadium, the stadium’s canopy roof, adjacent pavilions and
also over the stadium parking lot.
Rounding out the project are 14 energy-generating micro-wind turbines
placed along the top of the stadium over the north and south end zones.
From a renewable energy standpoint, the solar panels represent the largest
array of its kind in the Philadelphia area, as well as for any pro football
stadium. Combined with the wind turbines, the NRG installation’s annual
production is more than four times the power consumed during Eagles
regular-season home-game days, demonstrating the team’s commitment
to production of clean energy.

Home of the Reliant Home Run Derby
Everything in Texas is big, and AT&T Stadium ranks as the largest domed stadium in the world.
It takes a lot to power the stadium, and Reliant Energy is perfect for the job of official energy provider, as well as a major sponsor.
But, beyond powering AT&T Stadium, Reliant, an NRG company, is committed to supporting local youth organizations. The stadium is home to the Reliant Home Run Derby in Dallas. The derby raises money for various charitable organizations each year.
Through close relationships with professional teams like those in Dallas, Reliant is able to make a lasting impact on groups committed to a better community.

Proud partners in sponsoring the Scholarship for Champions
Reliant StadiumHouston, TX
How better for the NRG family to support Texas pro football than by partnering with the hometown team?
Reliant, an NRG company, is the offi cial energy provider of the Houston Texans. And to showcase the relationship Reliant has with Houston, the entire stadium park complex bears the name.
But with the Texans as our partners, we power more than just a stadium.
The Scholarship for Champions fosters growth in the community by encouraging youth academics, athletics, leadership and community service. Since the program’s start in 2006, Reliant has awarded 56 scholarships totaling $280,000 – all delivered by a Texans legend.

Patriot PlaceFoxboro, MA
Next to Gillette Stadium, Patriot Place offers fans a retail and dining
experience amidst the glow of an attractive LED-studded Solar Canopy.
Here, NRG has developed and installed a solar-energy-generation facility
integrated into the center’s existing Marketplace. Made up of more than
3,000 conventional and translucent building-integrated solar panels, the
canopy generates clean, renewable power at the Patriot Place installation.
It also serves to shield Patriot Place visitors from the elements.
For Patriot Place, not only did NRG provide a power-generation facility that
is state-of-the-art, but the team transformed an exposed, open-air retail
complex into a visually stunning retail destination. NRG generates power
while also keeping the atmosphere alive with infinite-color LED lighting.

A showcase for innovation in Silicon Valley, Levi’s® Stadium will be powered
with assistance from more than 1,150 solar panels integrated into the NRG
Solar Terrace and three NRG Energy Bridges.
These NRG installations can generate enough electricity throughout the year
to power the stadium during every 49ers home game.
With help from NRG, Levi’s® Stadium will be the first professional football
complex designed with sustainability and LEED certification standards in mind.
And as the exclusive sustainable energy partner of the 49ers, NRG will
continue to explore enhanced renewable energy opportunities at the stadium.

Unexpected plays We’re looking beyond the traditional play to get us across the goal line. With innovative energy solutions that give people a say in how they get electricity, we’re showing customers the power within themselves.
These deep routes are inspired by the innovative thinking that gives us an edge on the competition. This is how NRG goes long.

Playing in the unforgiving elements is a challenge. When the sun is beating
mercilessly down, it would be nice to play in the shade. And nicer still if you could
get some extra power while you’re at it.
NRG Solar offers custom-sized solar canopies for homes and businesses.
The NRG Haven Solar CanopyTM is a great way to generate green electricity
for homes and businesses, provide dedicated energy to remote locations and
ensure backup power to vital systems.
These configurable energy sources can host branding for businesses,
beautification for homes or parks — and of course offer protection from the
elements to cars and guests.

NRG for Electric Vehicles
Every team has a player who’s always revved up, always ready to go.
NRG eVgoTM offers the nation’s most complete electric vehicle charging
ecosystem, providing increased range for EV drivers at home, work and
retail locations. With such convenient charging options, chances are, at the
end of the day your EV still has some power to give. Now, electric vehicle
owners can put that enthusiasm back in the game.
eV2gSM is a vehicle-to-grid program from NRG eVgo that allows EV drivers
and fleet owners to offset their home or business usage with surplus
electricity from their EVs when grid demand is high and replenish it later
when prices drop. With this advanced technology, owners can help stabilize
the grid during peak times by selling back power when it’s at a premium and
still ensure their EVs are ready to roll when they need them.

Even on a team, each individual player must look within themselves for energy
and drive to excel. NRG Beacon 10TM is a revolutionary way for homes and
businesses to power themselves.
NRG is collaborating with inventor Dean Kamen to conduct a pilot program,
field-testing alpha units at several locations across the US.
Using common fuels like natural gas or propane, Beacon 10 provides
electricity, water and space heating, and backup generation efficiently and
affordably — all with very little sound and very low emissions.
Beacon 10 has a built-in inverter that lets you store and draw surplus power
with a battery, sell it back to the grid, and easily add solar panels to your
home-generation game plan.

Portable, recyclable power
Everyone could use a pick-me-up between plays. When you’re covering long
yards, you don’t have time to sit around an outlet for the energy so vital to
your on-the-go lifestyle.
What if you could rent a portable charger in the places you need power
most, get a boost for your phone, tablet or other devices while being free
to travel, and then drop it off somewhere convenient when you’re done?
The rentable charger from NRG will let you do just that. Because the simple
plays are often the best.
