Since its inception North Somerset Arts has grown in ambition, as well as working to promote artists and arts organisations across the authority, making arts inclusive and accessible to all has become a major priority. It engages with the community, creating opportunities and nurturing talent, through a programme of activities, events and projects. In September 2014 North Somerset Arts was granted registered charitable status, and it now seeks to progress its future by strengthening ties within the community and building sustainable partnerships. Arts Week North Somerset Arts Week celebrates the visual and performing arts across the region. It is a community event open to all levels of artists across a varied and broad range of disciplines and media, and has become a significant feature of the cultural landscape of North Somerset. Audiences The arts trail attracts between 24,000 – 30,000 visitors from North Somerset and beyond. From those surveyed in 2017, 21% of this figure travelled from areas outside North Somerset. In 2017 around 68% of visitors were female, and 43% of were in the 4564 age bracket. Visitors include those interested in the creative arts and the arts community as participants, visitors and purchasers. Arts Week 2017 included over 250 selling artists, including professional and hobbyist.
