CIQCustomer Information QuestionnaireIs a living document intended to constitute an organized platform for collecting required integration inputs from customer side. It also plays a “project log” role by documenting the agreed integration approach. It is not a “deliverable” as of such, but supports the planning & design activity.
DNPDocumentation IT-Net PlanningConstitutes the actual customer specific planning documentation detailing high level and/or low level physical and IP network connectivity design and logical planning aspects. It is the official NPO deliverable within the project’s scope, a customer documentation that serves as reference and basis for later troubleshooting or expansions.
TPDTechnical Project DataRepresents the “Databuild” phase which is equipment & product specific, and based on which equipment installation & configuration scripts are created.
Following deliverables are within NPO Services scope for IMS Portfolio products :

ToolsSECANT
SECANT is the official NSN tool for IP Planning and Design, maintained and developed by Network Engineering.
SECANT is an online tool that employs Product Line blueprints for various products
SECANT DNP generation is based on the DNP Master Template framework and the product blueprint, which combined with customized design possibilities and tool’s flexibility allow for product specific DNP generation within the project’s scope.
SECANT Homepage

ToolsIMS Load Tool
IMS Load Tool is maintained and developed by Network Engineering.
IMS Load Tool is used to generate the BoQ/BoM for particular customer case as well as specifying some particular requirements (like inter-site required bandwidth).
Although the dimensioning is done by SSM (local CT) with Network Engineering support, the planner should be able to support re-dimensioning activities if such are required during planning phase by previously undocumented network aspects or customer specific requests.

Support
Support can be offered to local Customer Teams (CT) during Presales phase to ensure a correct product dimensioning and quotation of NPO Services related efforts, as well as awareness of integration requirements. Please note :
Respective SSM and PM are must to join all customer workshops to have a clear picture of project and requirements. Before conducting a customer workshop, an internal workshop is a must.
NPO Services DO NOT typically include Network Dimensioning, which is under the responsibility of CSSC. Planners, however, should be enabled on IMS Dimensioning Tool to be able to support with re-dimensioning, if needed, during the planning phase.
NPO Services DO NOT include Feature Parity (assessment of features compared to swapped products), which falls under the responsibility of SSM (local CT)
NPO Services DO NOT include Feature Planning, including parameter matching (translating feature parameters from swapped products), which reflects in the Common Configuration section of TPD, and which is in the responsibility of the Solution Architect (local CT)

Planning & Design
Customer WS is recommended as a sign-off agreement point on the High Level Design, which will constitute the base for Low Level Design proceedings
At High Level Design stage, outputs will be the corresponding parts of DNP (and CIQ for justification)
At the end of the planning phase, the complete DNP and TPD (or databuild) should be ready and available for staging and/or on-site installation that follows. DNP and node TPD (Databuild) will be produced by the project planner based on the inputs and by means of the SECANT Tool * and appropriate TPD templates
CIQ is a living document, produced at the start of the planning phase based on available inputs and solution blueprints, which will remain in place after planning phase has ended as a reference and justification for the design decisions made.
* SECANT currently supports generation of DNP network parameter chapters and is planned to fully support DNP generation by end of 2013

Support
Staging phase represents the factory verification and pre-installation of project equipments in the Staging Center, for having the product shipped to site as ready pre-configured Staging phase is product dependant – not all IMS products require staging Staging requires network setup configuration information - the DNP, EPF and TPD. Staging requires a time slot to be reserved for the project in the Staging Center. This is done right after presales phase and constitutes the deadline for planning & design activities Throughout the time that staging takes place, the planner should be able to support staging colleagues for any queries regarding network setup and parameters. Planner should update his planning documents (DNP) with any feedback received from staging colleagues, to ensure planning document’s accuracy.Staging is an optional step in the delivery process for IMS networks. There is also option available for getting the hardware raw, directly at customer location.

Is advisable to manually check the SECANT generated DNP output for any format and content errors.
SECANT projects are saved on SECANT server, allowing re-using and sharing for knowledge improvement purposes.
Please help in improving our support and feedback any issues or inconsistencies to SECANT Team and/or GS NPO.
DNP is the official customer documentation for network planning & design and the only planning document to be delivered to our end customer. DNP should be delivered in a PDF format which is protected against editing.
Source Word/Excel files generated by SECANT can be delivered to local CT upon request, after ensuring those won’t be shared with the customer in order to preserve our accuracy of the network view as well as offering the possibility of additional business in the planning and design area in case of later expansions/migrations.
If project specific aspects render the SECANT output to unsatisfactory coverage of your planning needs, is advisable to use the SECANT generated DNP output as base and enlist Product Line and GS NPO support to guide you for manual DNP adjustment and completion.
