This month, we are shining the spotlight on Kurt and Patti Ley. Kurt graduated from Louisiana Tech and started his career in the oil and gas industry working as a geologist. Patti is a Shreveport native and has a degree in Art Education from LSUS. They met in high school and after graduating from college, moved to Lafayette and then on to Houston for 14 years. They moved home to Shreveport in 1995. Kurt co-founded Kingwood Exploration in 2007 and has been there since.

They have been members of the Petroleum Club for 8 years and say they joined because it was a natural fit. They both say that they have made many business contacts and the networking opportunities have helped their business grow. Their favorite club events include the SGS Geology and Wine Dinners, the holiday brunches and the daily lunch buffet. They also commented that the overall environment at the club is professional but relaxed. The staff is friendly and caring and make you feel like you’re part of a family.

Speaking of family, Kurt and Patti have a big, beautiful family that we have gotten to meet and celebrate with on many occasions. They have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. They love to travel and split their trip destinations between the mountains and the beach.

Thank you to Kurt and Patti for being a part of our club family! It’s a treat to have you as members.
