What CAN You Give?
ATTENTION 4-H’ERS: The EBR Parish canned food drive is at full speed! This year, the food drive will run from Monday, November 2 through Monday, November 16, 2015. If you have not made arrangements at your school, take the leadership role and speak with your leader and school administration to arrange a school-wide collection. Members at large can bring their collections to the EBR Parish Office no later than November 17, 2015. All canned goods collected will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank for those in need this holiday season. Use your head, heart, hands, and health to do your part and give back.
Workshop Fun for All
The East Baton Rouge 4-H Program will offer two interactive, super fun workshop
days during the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday Break. Check it out below:
Tie-Dye & Pet Care Workshops • Monday, Nov 23
This two-part workshop day will take place at the EBR Parish Office. Learn more
about how to create one of a kind t-shirts and accessories using different tie-dying methods. Also, find out some tips and tricks to better care for your pets! The Tie-Dye Workshop will take place from 9:30-11:30 AM and Pet Care from 1:00-3:00 PM. Please let us know by Wednesday, November 18
th if you will join us!
Lunch will be provided for those who attend both workshops. All supplies will be furnished, but space is limited, so register NOW!
ATV Safety Training • Tuesday, Nov 24
This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to safely ride and operate an ATV. Pre-registration is required to participate in this event and space is extremely limited. Participants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. To register, please contact one of the 4-H Agents. All participants will receive a FREE helmet and certification card upon completion.

Livestock Club News The East Baton Rouge Parish Livestock Club will meet on Tuesday, November 10 at 6 PM at the Gas/Utility Building in Zachary, LA. Don’t forget to bring donations for our Pet Shelter Drive, donations may be towels, sheets, pet beds, pet toys, pet treats, pet food, or other supplies associated with caring for our four-legged friends. If you have any questions, or need more information, please contact Mr. Shawn.
BACKYARD BUDDIES
The Backyard Buddies Program kicked off in October with a great group of new members. If you are still interested in taking part in this program, please contact Mr. Shawn or Ms. Katie. The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 PM at the EBR 4-H Office. Please come with any questions you may have. In the mean time, please feel free to contact us as needed. We are here to help!
Horse Club Horse Club will meet again on Thursday, November 5 @ 6 PM at the Shady Park Arena in Greenwell Springs. The next clinic will be Sunday, November 15 @ 4 PM at the same location. New members are always welcome and we look forward to seeing you there! Please note that no horses are needed for the meeting on November 5; however, you are encouraged to haul your horse to participate in the clinic.
Shooting Sports News
The East Baton Rouge Shooting Sports Program is off to a great start! We’d like to thank all of our new members for deciding to join and take part in this group. We would also like to welcome back our returning members. We are all looking forward to a successful year! Please be sure to complete your membership form and return to Ms. Katie as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so. This information is important for recording practice hours for competition eligibility. If you did not receive a form, please be sure to let us know! Practices will be held this month on Saturday, November 14 from 9-11 AM, and on Saturday, November 21 from 9-11 AM.
FASTER UPDATES & MORE INFORMATION Not only will participants receive email reminders but Shooting Sports also has a Facebook group through our parish page. Like “EBR Parish 4-H” and you can be added to the EBR Shooting Sports group. It’s really that simple! We understand that everyone is online, so we’re going there also to keep you better informed and in the know.
CAPITOL AREA HORSE SHOW
The East Baton Rouge 4-H Horse Club will once again host the Capitol Area Horse Show on Saturday, January 30, 2016. This will be an open horse show available to any and all interested participants. There will be 3 divisions for participation: 13 & Under, 14 to 18, and 19 & Up. A complete list of events and registration information can be obtained by contacting the EBR 4-H Office, please ask for Ms. Katie.

4-H Night with the Pelicans
Louisiana State 4-H will once again host its “4-H Night with the Pelicans” on
Friday, February 19, 2016. Come out and support Louisiana 4-H as the
Pelicans take on the 76’ers in the Smoothie King Arena. Ticket prices vary
and promotional packages are available. Package pricing does include a 4-H
Night Pelicans T-shirt, access into the pre-party activities, on-court fan
experiences, and post-game photos. Please see the last page of the
Clovertalk for more information about pricing, packages, and how to order
your tickets. This event is open to all 4-H’ers and their families and friends.

Upcoming Camps & More… Throughout the year, 4-H hosts numerous camps and events open to any member interested. These camps range from different focuses with different topics. Please see the list below of upcoming camps that may interest you. If interested, please contact the 4-H Office by the appropriate date to register.
FASHION CAMP Fashion Camp will be held at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA on January 22-24, 2016. This camp focuses on 10-13 year olds. Deadline to register December 7. This year’s theme will be “I Survived Fashion Boot Camp!”
FOOD & FITNESS CAMP Food & Fitness Camp will be held at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA on March 19-20, 2016. This camp focuses on 4-6 graders. Deadline to register February 1. This year’s theme will be “Passport to Health.”
