Mark RoushMarketing Consultant and Principal, Experience Light, LLCVice President, Illuminating Engineering Society (IES)

Mark Roush is principal in Experience Light, a consultancy offering award winning marketing expertise in the design of the customer experience in order to create demand, increase visibility and build value in support of the lighting industry. This includes brand/product positioning, product/business development, advertising/PR management, trade show/event design, education/training center design and operations, and technical application to drive early adoption and thought leadership throughout the value chain. His client’s include Philips, WESCO, Vantage Controls, LG Innotek, RAB and others.

Mark’s experience has included Director of Specification Marketing with Acuity Brands Lighting, where he was responsible for design, project management, program development and operations in The Center for Light + Space – Acuity’s NYC customer experience center. Prior to this Mark has held several advancing positions within Philips Lighting Company including Director of Brand Experience, Application Marketing, and National Account Sales, and Manager of the Lighting Application Center. He is also well versed in LED lighting application through experiences with Dialight Corporation as VP of Illumination Futures and LumiLeds Lighting as North American Market Developer.

An active member of the lighting community, Mr. Roush is currently Vice President (President Elect 2015-2016) and recognized as Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society and is recent Past President of the International Association of Lighting Designers Education Trust. Mark is perhaps best known as script writer and emcee of the LIGHTFAIR Innovation Awards (New Product Showcase) for the past fifteen years. He has served in a variety of leadership positions on national committees for all three organizations.

He remains a creative and strategic marketeer with a strong technical and design background in lighting. Mr. Roush received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and has taught architectural lighting on the faculties of two universities as well as teaching as a visiting instructor in numerous colleges and courses for the IESNA, IALD, IDEC, AIA, ASID and others in several national, regional and sectional programs.
