It gives me immense pleasure to know that Bridge & Roof Co. (India) Ltd. (B&R) is going to publish the first edition of their quarterly Newsletter. I trust that this Newsletter will prove itself as an important medium to connect to their employees, clients and other stakeholders. It will also serve to show-case the capacity and capability of the Company to various clients in this market, which will undoubtedly help in improving the image of B&R.

Shri Anant Geete, Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Govt. of India visited B&R on 10th July 2015. During his visit he reviewed the performance of B&R and was impressed with the in-house capability and its future business plans. He also expressed that B&R has got immense potential to face market challenges and suggested various roadmaps for manifold growth of the Company in the coming years. He also assured full support of the Govt. to B&R in matters related to the growth of the Company.

Visit of Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises

Visit of Secretary, Heavy IndustryDr. Rajan S. Katoch, IAS, Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, held a Review Meeting of B&R at the Company's Kolkata Office on 7th July 2015. He was very much impressed with the excellence of the team work at B&R and its success. He congratulated us for our great achievements in various fields of construction activities.

Shilpa Chakraborty crosses English Channel

Shilpa Chakraborty is an accomplished swimmer who has many achievements to her credit. She used to take part in long distance swimming competition in West Bengal and had once covered 81 kms. and stood first in the competition. The greatest achievement of her career is to cross the English Channel which tests the physical and mental capabilities of a swimmer. Swimming with strong

odetermination, she started at 3:30am amid adverse weather conditions with water temperature around 2 C and it took her 12 hours 24 minutes to cross. Shilpa is the daughter of Shri Tapash Chakraborty, a proud employee of our organization. B&R congratulates Shilpa and her family for her triumph.

NIT Agartala Inauguration B&R was awarded the work of construction of Computer Centre for National Institute of Technology, Agartala on deposit work basis. The Computer Centre building was inaugurated by Hon'ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Tathagata Roy on 14th August 2015. The total project cost of the building is Rs. 37.76 Crores and the floor area of the building is 13059 sqm. (G+4).

Successful erection of Coke Drums at CPCLB&R has successfully erected two nos. Coke Drums weighing 575 MT each at Manali Refinery of Chennai Petroleum Corpn. Ltd. The erection was carried out at the base height of 30m above ground with the help of main crane of 1250 MT and trailing crane of 550 MT. The height of each coke drum is 44.113m and diameter is 10m. The coke drum structure of 1200 MT has been assembled and erected in the form of eight modules within a record time of 26 days with the same cranes. The top elevation of the structure is 122m above ground level.

Rajbhasha PakhwadaBridge & Roof Co. (India) Ltd. (B&R) observed Rajbhasha Pakhwada from 14-09-2015 to 28-09-2015. Various Programmes and Competitions using Hindi Language were held during the fortnight to enhance awareness of our national language and encourage its use in the day-to-day workings of the Company. B&R’s Official Language Implementation Committee regularly conducts Hindi classes in the Company to impart a working knowledge of the Hindi language to its non-Hindi speaking employees.
