Entertainment: Lisa Schell – Flyers will go out shortly regarding the upcoming Christmas activities. Please join us on Sun, Dec 20th 5:30PM for a bonfire at the beach followed by caroling, and a visit from Santa beginning at 6:00PM at 432 Edgewater Road. Parents: Be sure to visit Santa’s workshop Sunday before the caroling to drop off a gift for your child from Santa.

Garden Club: Sarah Ann Parsons – Plans are in full swing for Christmas Open House which takes place on Friday, Dec 4. Two families have graciously offered to host. The first open house is the home of Charlene Wroten and Bart Arconti, 430 Park Creek Rd. for light hors d’oeuvres from 6pm-8pm. Our next visit is the home of Chris and Colin MacKenzie, 469 Edgewater Rd. from 8pm-10pm for desserts. Please bring an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots in lieu of bringing any food. Just a reminder, our Garden Club’s annual dance, a Valentine’s Day Spectacular, will be held on Sat. February 13, 2010, at the Maryland Yacht Club. Bring your sweetie and join the fun.

Pier: Brian Ferguson – Ongoing activities at the pier include the following: Brian is getting estimates for pier/bulkhead repair. He is also looking for a replacement for the water pump. There will be an electrical inspection on the lights in December. He will also contact Bob Lee concerning placement of the Ice Eaters. A decision to move forward with the shed repairs has been put on hold pending review of the structural integrity of the shed.

Rick Scruggs: President – An update on the replacement of our neighborhood sign: We have received 2 proposals from Absolute Signs which were very reasonable. The Board voted on approval of the cost, subject to the offer of a very generous donation from one of our neighbors.

Vandalism continues to be a problem in our neighborhood. The latest incident involved damage and almost sinking of a boat at the marina. A water hose was placed on the boat and the water turned on. There has also been break-ins and disturbance of a vacant home on Valley Drive. Please keep an eye out for disturbances in the neighborhood. If you have questions regarding activities, don’t hesitate to call the police.

Ingredients• 1 1/4 cups whole natural almonds

• 1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese

• 1/2 cup real mayonnaise

• 3 crispy cooked bacon slices, crumbled

• 1/2 teaspoon dill weed

• Salt and pepper

• 1 tablespoon chopped green onion

• Sprigs, for garnish

DirectionsPreheat oven to 300 degrees F.

On a serving platter, make 2 pine cone shapes
