We invest strategically in
real estate development,
in community and civic
engagement, and in quality,
neighborhood-based
programming that brings
opportunity to low-income
residents to improve the
quality of l ife on the
North Shore.
North Shore CDC is positioned to bring our neighborhood development
model to communities throughout the region by focusing on historically
low-income and distressed neighborhoods in need of revitalization.
• Our most recent housing development created 108 units of
affordable housing in Beverly’s lowest income neighborhood.
• Our YouthBuild North Shore program is the only program in the
region serving young people under the national YouthBuild model.
• Our collaborative 7-year neighborhood improvement plan, the
Salem Point Vision and Action Plan, engaged over 300 residents
and created city-wide commitments for neighborhood investment.
• Our long-term partnerships with 6 local universities engaged 19
interns and 180 one-time volunteers who together completed
3,143 volunteer hours to support existing projects, pilot new
programs, and provide valuable evaluations for our work.
2013 SUCCESS

OUR REGIONAL MODELNEIGHBORHOOD REVITILIZATION
“YouthBuild North Shore makes a huge difference in
people's lives. It’s a large part of the reason I got my
high school diploma, and if it weren't for YouthBuild,
I wouldn't be the person I am today.
Caroline Oliver graduated from YouthBuild North Shore in 2013 and
has since completed her first year at North Shore Community College

In the past 3 years, North Shore CDC, exclusive of our properties, has doubled
our staff capacity & budget. In the next 3 years we project to double again.
Our work is made possible by the generosity of the many individuals
and organizations who support our investment in the North Shore.
Thank You.

My parents separated and we moved around a lot.
I don’t want my kids to live like that. I want them
to have a stable home.. North Shore CDC is taking
care of that.Mario Alves lives in Beverly in our Holcroft Park Homes development
