Qantas offers unmatched coverage from Australia to North America via our six key gateway cities: Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Francisco, New York, Honolulu and Vancouver.

Qantas offers a daily service to Los Angeles from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on A380 and B747 aircraft and an additional 6 services per week to Los Angeles from Melbourne on the new B789 Dreamliner aircraft. Additionally, Qantas offers 7 flights per week to Dallas/Fort Worth — all A380 services — and 6 flights per week to San Francisco. Qantas connects to over 200 city pairs across North America with codeshare partners American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and WestJet. Qantas codeshares with American Airlines on seasonal daily services to Los Angeles from Auckland with B789 aircraft offering connections to Australia on Qantas and within New Zealand on Jetstar.

From Dallas/Fort Worth — American Airlines’ hub — Qantas connects within 4 hours to over 160 flights within North America alone. Business-friendly schedule with early morning arrivals/late departures at LAX. American Airlines is the world’s largest airline with nearly 6,700 daily flights to more than 330 destinations in more than 50 countries.

Codeshare partner Alaska Airlines offers additional coverage of North America’s West Coast via Los Angeles and San Francisco including destinations such as Anchorage, Seattle, Portland and Vancouver. With codeshare partner WestJet, customers can connect to Canada’s key domestic hubs — Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton — within 4 hours of arriving into Los Angeles or Honolulu on a Qantas International flight. Within Canada, Qantas customers can access 50 codeshare city pairs. Qantas codeshares on Jetstar services to Honolulu to complement Qantas 5 flights per week from Sydney.

North America fleet and product

On 15 December 2017, Los Angeles to Melbourne was the inaugural route for Qantas’ next generation B789 Dreamliner aircraft. On 1 September 2018, Qantas will expand B789 services to Melbourne– San Francisco and Brisbane–Los Angeles–New York. Built for comfort, the Qantas Dreamliner offers customers larger windows, a smoother, quieter ride and better air quality to reduce jetlag.

Each of the Qantas Dreamliner cabins have been designed to ensure a premium customer experience. Business class boasts Qantas’ new Business suites with a fully flat bed and direct aisle access. Qantas’ next generation Premium Economy seats are wider, ergonomically designed and feature a unique recline motion that provides customers a class-leading level of comfort. The Dreamliner’s all new Economy seats are larger, with integrated mood lighting a 12” high definition touch screen.

Qantas is the only carrier to operate the award-winning four cabin A380 aircraft between Australia and the United States, providing a world-class flying experience with award-winning business seats.

Qantas also provides a journey of unsurpassed luxury with our First cabin between Australia and North America.

Qantas services offer unrivalled personal service, award-winning food and wine, ondemand inflight entertainment and a checked baggage allowance for all customers.

At our new Los Angeles Business and First Lounge, eligible1 passengers will enjoy features such as a communal fireplace, a central glass atrium and Qantas Chef Neil Perry-designed menus inspired by multicultural California. Eligible2 passengers can also enjoy the extensive American Airlines lounge network or Alaska Airlines lounges.

All transcontinental LAX and SFO to JFK services are operated by American Airlines’ A321T service. American Airlines is the only airline to offer a three class service with both First and Business class offering lie-flat beds on these brand new aircraft.

American Airlines has embarked on a largescale fleet renewal and product transformation program including the world’s largest order of aircraft with nearly 600 narrow-body Boeing 737–800s and Airbus A321T/A321 and A319 — equivalent to 2 new aircraft deliveries per week. All new deliveries have inflight wi-fi, seatback IFE, leather seats in all cabins (except A321T) and in-seat power. Additional investments include a new, modern design for Admirals Club lounges worldwide and an upgraded assortment of complimentary healthy food and cocktails.

When travelling beyond the Qantas-operated network on codeshare flights (with a QF flight number) operated by American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and WestJet, Frequent Flyer’s can:

− Earn Qantas Points and Status credits at the same rate as flying on a Qantas aircraft.

− Enjoy Qantas lounge access if travelling on an eligible flight2.

As oneworld members, Qantas and American Airlines customers enjoy the additional benefit of oneworld Global Support teams at Los Angeles, Dallas and New York.

oneworld Global Support teams proactively monitor connecting flights for Qantas customers. The support team will endeavour to assist disrupted passengers successfully meet their connections and have baggage transferred to its final destination. This service is also available in Miami and Chicago O’Hare.
