Project overview (description and goals):

A. MOREIRA & FILHOS LDA was founded in 1999. Located in Esposende, Braga, it develops its activity in the furniture sector. The activity of the company corresponds to CAE 16230 - Manufacture of the woodwork for construction. A. Moreira & Filhos has demonstrated the know-how and competence, both in the manufacture of kitchens and in specialized woodwork. With this project the company sought to acquire technological equipment that enabled the increase of capacity, giving solution to productive constraints that hindered the pursuit of its growth strategy, mainly through internationalization.

Goal, activities and expected / achieved results:

A. Moreira & Filhos, Lda. is a company inserted on the carpentry industry, manufacturing and commerce of furniture, in which

activity corresponds to CAE 16230 - Manufacturing of other carpentry works for construction. The project designated as "STILO

mobiliário - automation e technological innovation of productive process and logistics", aim’s the increase of the installed capacity

contributing to the elimination of productive and logistics embarrassment’s which keep the company from proceeding the strategy

of resizing and consolidating in segments of dynamic and increased values market (commercial furniture). The company’s productive

capacities and valences are mostly directed to the «kitchen furniture» and «carpentry service» segments. In this context, the project

induces it’s resize and reposition on the «commercial furniture» segment, by the reinforce of the production capacity and the

widening of the product’s range, namely cabinets, chairs, bookcases, balconies, shelves, exhibitors, among others. The results to

achieve in the post-project are the following:

•! Business Volume: 2.500.000,00 Euros;

•! Gross increased value: 1.022.496,44 Euros;

•! Qualified job creation: 8 work posts.

A.Moreira & Filhos, Lda. is a company created in 1999, with a strong family background, that develops its activity in the furniture

sector.

In 2009, the company began its internationalization process. The strategy goes through the valuation of the product and services

for the customer, highlighting its differentiating aspects and an indelible signature of quality.

The commitment to solid partnerships and a firm and stable international promotion has made it possible to carry out emblematic

work at international level. The mission of A. Moreira & Filhos is to innovate, to focus on the design and automation of processes,

providing differentiated services to the client and ensuring the permanent training of its employees.

With the implementation of the internationalization plan, the company intends to enter into 3 new markets - Belgium, the United

Kingdom and Luxembourg - through the following action plan:

•! Knowledge of foreign markets (Fairs / Exhibitions);

•! Presence on the web through the digital economy;

•! Prospecting and presence in international markets.

With this internationalization project, the company defined as goals the increase of the Gross Value of Production, the increase of

Gross Value Added and an intensity of exports of 70% (year 2018).

corresponds to CAE 16230. The present project called "Carpintaria Moreira - Qualification for the External Markets", is framed

in the typologies of investment:

•! Digital economy and ICT

•! Branding and design

•! Quality

The project aims at training and qualification of the company in the above-mentioned areas with the goal of increasing

competitiveness, promoting market diversification and increasing the company's export intensity to 70%.
