The advanced EVERBURN system found in several Vermont Castings wood stoves

gives cleaner emissions and longer burn times, similar to a catalytic system. Gases

produced from the burning of the wood are mixed with just the right amount of air

to ensure they are burned completely, producing clean emissions and efficient

warmth. The state-of-the-art design of our EVERBURN noncatalytic Combustion

System enables our new Encore noncatalytic wood stove to burn more steadily and

longer on a single load of wood compared to other noncatalytic stoves.

Easy Ash Handling: Throw away that ash shovel. The unique built-in grate and swing-out

ash pan on certain models eliminate all the mess involved with removing ashes from your

stove. The ash pan comes with a handled lid for easy removal and disposal. All Vermont

Castings™ wood stoves include a mechanism for safe and easy ash removal.

Smokeless Top Loading: Forget about bending over to wrestle a log through a stove’s front

door. Better yet, forget about ashes and sparks falling out the front loading door. Just lift the

griddles top and let gravity do the work for you. This is the cleanest and safest way to load

a stove, and is standard on many of our wood stoves.

Easier to operate, the noncatalytic wood stove is ideal for those who desire high efficiency

with less maintenance.

• Easier to operate • Lively flame picture • No catalytic combustor to replace

Primary air enters the stove through an access holein the back of the stove. The air is preheated as it isdrawn through the interior walls of the stove. As thisprimary combustion air enters the firebox above theglass door, it effectively washes the glass, thusmaintaining a cleaner view of the fire.

To achieve greater efficiency, secondary air enters thefirebox bringing about the secondary phase ofcombustion. Secondary combustion reduces theamount of unburned gasses. These noncatalytic wood stoves

feature a conventional noncatalyticcombustion system works like this:

Burn times and heat outputs are based on laboratory testing using full loads of seasoned hardwoods, and may vary depending on how the stove is operated, type ofwood and other factors. Average heating capacity is based on operation in building code-conforming homes under typical winter climate in New England, andalso may vary.Efficiency ratings are based on independent or internal laboratory testing. Efficiency ratings listed for the Madison, Aspen and Intrepid NC are default figuressupplied by EPA and represent efficiencies of similar EPA certified models.
