ABOUT THIS GUIDEThis guide will help the user to understand the working of MicroMCS, and as well will guide to use MicroMCS.

INTRODUCTION OF PRODUCT:Mobile phone theft is a growing problem both in India and overseas. The loss of a mobile phone is not only inconvenient, but can also be costly to consumers

If your phone is lost or stolen, contact your mobile phone company immediately to suspend your service (this will prevent unauthorized calls being made) and report the loss or theft of your handset to the police, but is this enough to get your handset and data back. Primary responsibility for enforcing criminal law and for providing assistance in locating and returning lost and stolen mobile phones, rests with the State and Territory police.GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) phones have the potential to be 'rebirth', where the old SIM card in the GSM handset is taken out, and a new SIM card (connecting to another network) inserted into the lost or stolen GSM mobile phone. This is not the case with CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) phones. CDMA phones do not have a SIM card as it is the phone itself that connects directly with the network. If your CDMA phone is lost or stolen, it is important to contact your mobile phone company immediately (so that the service can be suspended) and the police.

As many as 10,000 mobile phones are stolen every month which are reported to police. Two thirds of the victims are aged between 13 and 16. Many phones are also stolen from unattended cars. Current crime statistics reveal that a mobile telephone is stolen in about half of all street crime and in approximately a third of cases it is the only property stolen. Our main aim is to reduce street crime and the number of mobile phones stolen during these offences by tackling those involved in Mobile Phone criminality; principally the handlers, re-programmers and exporters of stolen mobile phones. Working in partnership with the Government, the Telecoms’ Industry, other Law Enforcement Agencies and the Media, the NMPCU intends to disrupt and reduce the opportunity for theft of mobile phones and address the false reporting of mobile phone crime.

Everyone who has a mobile device has the same risk of having it stolen or lost," said Peter Larsson, CEO of Pointsec Mobile Technologies, a Stockholm, Sweden-based enterprise device security software provider. "Companies are carrying around corporate data on PDA’s and it's not protected. The bulk of corporations aren't protected. There are still a lot of unprotected users and devices out there."

On an average daily loss of revenue due to mobile theft in India is Rs.200,000 approximately as per survey conducted by MCI. But major loss is not just handset but the list of contacts of our near and dear ones i.e. of our private and professional life. The losses also consist of our images and video clips which we save in our handset so that we can view it later also. So the loss of data can be even more than that of the handset because to recover our list of contacts we may even spend 2-3 years.
