To our Potential Partners,

As we enter into our sixth year, QHacks is dedicated more than ever to ensure that we providehackers with opportunities to expand their skills, networks, and realm of possibility. Within only sixyears, our event has reached thousands of people and been the incubator for many game-changinginnovations. Our success has all been possible due to the continual support of our partners, such asyourself!

This year we plan to focus on recruiting a diverse selection of hackers for our 2021 event. As the firstco-chairs that are both women, we are hoping to encourage more individuals from differentbackgrounds and identities to explore what is typically a male-dominated field. We are proud thatwe had 228 female-identifying hackers in 2019 and hope to continue making strides towardsadvocating for a more inclusive tech community at Queen's University, Canada, and globally.

As it has been decided, QHacks 2021 will be fully virtual! As per QHacks of the past, we intend to holdan event that will provide our hackers and partners with a high quality, positive, and professionalexperience. Our priority is making this a positive experience while keeping everyone safe and healthy.

As Queen's University's one and only hackathon, QHacks is a hub for technology andinnovation among students. We give Canada's most talented student developers,engineers, and innovators 36 hours to bring their ideas to life. Hackathons, likeQHacks, provide hackers with the tools needed for creativity, experimentation, andinnovation. We want the growing community of young hackers to have access tothese tools while connecting them to partners and opportunities across the globe.

Our focus for our virtual sixth iteration is to create an environment that welcomeseveryone, no matter their background, in order to help foster new innovations andconnections! As a virtual event, we intend to create an accessible and equitableenvironment for all our hackers and partners. Increased diversity within hacker teamswill foster increased ROI, creativity, and problem solving (just to name a few). We planto make a difference while having a good time.
