The Instrumentation occupation equips namibian train- ees with the skills needed to take up positions as qualified artisans within the mining, engineering, building and civil industries. The Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology pro- vides a holistic method of training that integrates practi- cal hands on training with theoretical knowledge and background, shaping individuals into experienced, know- ledgeable, well qualified, capable recruits geared to enter the commercial and industrial job market. The Instrumentation trade will teach the trainee to com- petently: Repair all plant instrumentation systems including sensors, transmitters, recorders, analyzers, controllers and related equipment. Do periodic inspections of instrumentation systems and determine the nature and extent of repairs re- quired including work sequences. Use electronic test equipment to identify the causes of abnormal operations and to verify correct and accurate operation of instrumentation components. Develop and test instruments and measuring devices. 2.1 - MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Trainee has to undergo an evaluation test with the NIMT to establish trainability/ recognition of prior learning.

Trainee must be English literate. Minimum of three years uninterrupted job expe-

rience. Copy of “Service Record” is a prerequisite and therefore must be handed to the Registrar when the trainee registers for the evaluation test.

Minimum Grade 6 with a pass in Mathematics,

Physical Science and English, which is our official language.

Must be employed to enable the trainee to com-

plete/practice the prescribed tasks before entering for the next Level.
