A RECORD SETTING DAY! June 6, 2006 By: Don Nichols Ansley Tuesday Afternoon Golf Tour Perhaps it was because it was no doubt the prettiest day of the year—and add to that the excellent course conditions. Whatever the reason, the stage was set for what turned out to be the most competitive match of the 2006 season. ATAG Tour caliber golf was at its finest on the first Tuesday in June as evidenced by the excellent rounds po sted by mos t of the players, inc luding a career best score for one mid handicapper, a high handicapper breaking 50 for the first time, multiple birdies and shots of the day, and the best team score of the 2006 season. Eighteen players were assembled into the following five teams via the random ball drop, with three foursomes and two threesomes, the latter necessitated by the cancellation by two players on the day of the match.
