We will also be hearing from expert speakers and Department for Transport officials, who will set out the latest market position and show that the main barriers to growth have all been overcome. With 130 million kg of biomethane forecast to be injected into the gas grid in 2015, with huge domestic shale gas resource and with National Grid installing an LNG road tanker loading facility at Isle of Grain in 2015 there is now potential in a major transformation away from diesel for trucks and buses. Gas Bus Alliance will show how they are using biomethane and CNG to deliver low carbon buses in 4 UK towns and GasRec will explain how their Liquid Biomethane from landfill is being used to leverage LNG into the truck market with a national network of low carbon Bio-LNG facilities. With a wide range of Natural Gas Trucks and Buses now available in the UK, NGV Day 2014 on 25 June 2014 will highlight the NGV Market opportunities. We are expecting over 200 industry professionals to attend with exhibition stands from key stakeholders in the NGV Industry including vehicle manufacturers, LNG suppliers, gas grid owners and the compression industry. On the CNG side, Tenens and Brit European have introduced long range 6 x 2 tractors on CNG-diesel dual fuel. Find out how they have overcome the range issue. In addition, Scania have launched a dedicated CNG/LNG tractor which is the first of its type produced by an OEM and is set to be transformational. NGV Day 2014 will also showcase the projects being funded by the Technology Strategy Board’s £11 Million programme and will show how CNG, LNG and biomethane is set to transform the bus and truck sectors in the next 10 years. Natural Gas Vehicles offer not only significant savings on CO2 and particulate emissions, but also significant fuel cost reductions as natural gas now costs less than 1/3rd of oil on an energy basis. The Government has fixed the gas- diesel duty differential for 10 years, creating the stability necessary for investment. With the use of Green Gas Certificates, commercial vehicle operators can aim for carbon neutral haulage. NGV Day is about bringing everyone involved in the sector together to network and learn from industry experts, sharing first-hand experience on current projects. It is also about showing that the technical barriers associated with NGVs have been overcome and marketing the opportunities to other stakeholders and the wider industry. Attendees will receive a briefing pack and have an opportunity to talk face-to-face with the speakers and exhibitors. NGV Day - The Heritage Motor Centre Conference, Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwickshire, CV35 0BJ Supported by Energy & Utility Skills

GREEN GAS CERTIFICATES Biogas produced from waste can be upgraded to biomethane and injected into the grid. By using the Green Gas Certification Scheme companies can track their green gas from anaerobic digester to customer, whether for CHP, heating or vehicle use. (www.greengas.org.uk)

By way of illustration, 10,000 tonnes of food waste can be converted in an anaerobic digester to around 700,000kg of renewable methane. This would be sufficient to provide natural gas to fuel around 50 dual-fuel trucks, each doing 100,000km per annum.

The event will include a detailed briefing on how this not-for-profit scheme works to allow biomethane producers to track and promote green gas benefits.

The NGV (Natural Gas Vehicles) Network is holding its first annual conference on Wednesday 25th June at the Motor Heritage Museum in Gaydon. Recently established with funding investment from the UKCES* to support businesses within the NGV industry, the NGV Network is well and one of its main focuses this year is NGV Day 2014. *UK Commission for Employment and Skills.

During the event, we will be looking at the NGV industry as a whole and then focusing specifically on the experiences and lessons learned by those who have been involved in truck and bus projects. Please see attached for the draft agenda, speakers are in the process of being confirmed. If you would like to attend this event the prices (exclusive of VAT) are outlined below. Prices have been set to cover costs and encourage participation in the NGV industry, aim is for a sell-out of 200 delegates. Contact us as soon as possible to book your ticket.
