Guide for supporters
National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities Meeting
Session Preparation and support needed Minutes and actions taken
Before the meeting: Go through the minutes with your regional rep. Highlight any areas you are unsure of or points you want to raise. If your regional rep has been asked to complete an action, check whether this has been done. During the meeting: Support to raise concerns or ask questions if needed.
Money report, results of the election
Before the meeting: Look at the money report from the last meeting. During the meeting: Support to raise concerns or ask questions if needed.
Regional Report
Before the meeting: Make sure you have worked with the regional rep to prepare the report using the template provided. Send it to Lucy at Inclusion North before the meeting or within a week of the meeting so it can be added to the

minutes During the meeting: Support the rep to talk through the report and to answer questions that other might have. Support your rep to write down one of the main things that each area talked about on the sheet provided. The rep can use this as part of their feedback to the region about the National Forum meeting.
About our region
Before the meeting: This session will focus on the Yorkshire and Humber region. Let the rep know this- it will be all about what is happening across this region for self-advocates. During the meeting: Support the rep to ask questions where appropriate. Write down the main thing that the Yorkshire and Humber region talked about on the sheet provided.
A good life
Before the meeting: Prepare the regional rep for this session with Christian and Matt. Look at the minutes from the last session and talk to your rep about Christian’s session. During the meeting: Support the rep to ask questions where appropriate After the meeting:

Transforming Care in the regions

Expenses
During the meeting: Make sure you complete your expense forms so we can pay you quickly!
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender People with Learning Disabilities
Before the meeting: Support your regional rep to think about what support there is in their region for people with learning disabilities who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. After the meeting:
