Our new address will be: 7690 Zionsville Road Indianapolis, IN 46268 Since we sll have some things to work on before we can move in, we will send out more info about when the relocaon will take place at the beginning of the year. HOPE ROAD NICARAGUA At Davis Wholesale Supply, we’re honored to be able to give back to our friends and family in our own community, as well as those across the world who need a helping hand. We partnered with Hope Road Nicaragua - a charity dedicated to improving the physical, emoonal, and spiritual needs of some of the most vulnerable people in the world - to bring fresh, clean water to the people of Nicaragua via the Doing Well Together campaign. From May 1st through September 30th 2017, we pledged to donate $6 per caddy of boled water sold to Hope Road, to help install new wells and clean water pumps in the most needed areas of Nicaragua. In those short five months, thanks to our amazing customers and their support in this mission, we were able to reach our goal and provide a clean water well to aid many Nicaraguans in need of safe drinking water. We’d love to connue this mission in 2018, so we’re pledging again! Our goal is to completely fund another well and clean water pump so that even more Nicaraguans can drink fresh, clean water without wondering if it’s going to make them sick or not. Hope Road Nicaragua was started in 2005 when a group of 25 students and adults from New Hope Church in Greenwood, IN took a 10-day service trip to Managua, Nicaragua. The members on that trip had such a wonderful and rewarding experience, they returned me and me again, eventually laying the ground work for a long-term mission to help those who are less fortunate. DID YOU KNOW?
Many people believe that 10 inches of snow converts to approximately 1 inch of rain, or liquid equivalent, but is that true? Well, sometimes it is. Let me explain.
When the temperature is around 30 degrees, one inch of liquid precipitation would fall as 10 inches of snow - assuming it’s all snow, and not mixed precipitation, that falls.
But the amount of moisture in each snowflake differs depending on the temperature changing the snow to rain ratio in each snowflake.
Here’s an example:Let’s say it’s 25 degrees out and it starts snowing. The snow ratio would be closer to 15 inches of snow to one inch of rain (15:1). This is because the snow has less liquid water content at lower temperatures, creating smaller snowflakes that fall in greater numbers, making a lot more snow!http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/weather/stories
BROWNSBURG BAND BOOSTERS
This fall, Davis Wholesale Supply donated the use of a tractor and trailer, and one of our awesome drivers, Scott Hatfield, donated his time to help out with the Brownsburg High School Marching Band. He transported band equipment to several
different band competitions throughout Indiana. We’re a proud sponsor of the arts programs at Brownsburg High School, and we’re very proud of the Brownsburg Marching Band for placing 8th in the 2017 ISSMA Class A State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium!
