Annual Fire Drill Congratulations Marni! It’s that time of year again! 

The Capitol Place Staff will be conducting the annual fire evacuation drill on Thursday, October 30th at 1:00pm. The alarm will be sounded at 1:00pm and the entire drill will last between 15 to 30 minutes. We highly encourage you to participate to become better acquainted with the procedures and the escape route to Saint Andrew’s Cathedral lawn.  

We are happy to announce that our Operations 

Manager, Marni Ramirez has received her Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) 

Certification and was installed by our former 

General Manager, Davie Felipe with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) on September 17th, 

2014. Congratulations Marni!  

Happy Halloween! Before you begin to make plans, reservations and purchase costumes and candy, please reacquaint yourself with the Capitol Place rules concerning 

Halloween costumes and activies. As we have done in the past, here is a friendly reminder, that for your safety and comfort this Halloween, at Capitol Place 

there will be: 

No door to door trick‐or‐treating 

No masks for full face paint allowed on property 

I.D. checks in progress 

Please keep in mind that these rules apply to your guests as well. If you have any questions or concerns,

Queen Emma Square On September 10th, 2014, the Episcopal Church in Hawaii purchased the road that loops around Queen Emma Square Park. There will be a loss of 15 metered public parking stalls at an unannounced date. Should guest parking here at Capitol Place be full, your guests may utilize the municipal paid parking lot managed by Diamond Parking or street parking.

For window maintenance, purchase a 

white lithium grease or any silicone 

based grease. For easier application, 

we recommend one in a tube.

quarterly basis and as 

needed. Turn the 

window handle side to 

side to get the best 

results.

To help our Management, Residential Specialist, Landscaping, Maintenance and Housekeeping teams better serve you here in your home, please report any issues or discrepancies you see to the front desk as soon as you see them. We appreciate your input to keep our building and amenities running like new. If you have an issue or discrepancy that may require the Board of Directors’ input, management will forward it to the Board as needed. As always, homeowners are welcome to attend the Board of Directors’ Meetings held in the function room. Mahalo for your kokua!

Discover’s Day On Monday, October 13th, the management office will be closed in observance of 

Discover’s Day.  

Calendar of Events Pest Control & Trash Room Treatment Diversified Exterminators will treat common areas on Thursday, October 2nd. During that time, they will treat individual units for $15. Call Fern at 841‐5855 to arrange an appointment.They will also be treating the trash room. The trash chute will be closed for a few hours for the treatment.  

House Rules Speeding in the Garage The speed limit in the parking garage, guest parking, Kukui entrance, Kukui exit and port cohere areas is    5 mph. Use your headlights and proceed with caution. Please exercise patience and tolerance for others in the parking garage. Mahalo for kokua!  House Rule 5.8: Trash Room 

DO NOT leave trash on the floor in the trash room on your floor. If your trash does not fit in the chute, 

please throw it away in the bins in the loading dock on the first floor. 

House Rule 11.5: Pool Deck No glass items of any kind, food, beverages (other 

than water in a non‐breakable container), toys, diving equipment, or similar items shall be permitted in the 

swimming pool or on the deck.  

House Rule 7.3: Noise Please be mindful of your noise level as there are apartments below as well as next to your apartment. As a courtesy to your neighbors below you, please put felt pads on the bottom of the chairs in your kitchen. Without these pads, the noise goes through the walls and floor.  Please keep noise levels down between 10pm‐6am Sunday‐Thursday and 12am‐8am Friday and Saturday as a courtesy to other residents. 

As we approach the holiday season and begin our festivity planning, we would like to send a friendly reminder that: 

No business, political or religious events are allowed to be hosted. 

You are responsible for the reasonable behavior of your guests. 

If you are planning to host a party that exceeds 30 guests, you will need to hire a Residential Specialist. 

A lottery will be hosted for New Years’ Eve reservations for the Cabanas and Club Room.  

 

Quarterly Window Cleaning World Wide Windows will be on 

property from October 20th—October 24th from 

9am‐5pm. Please keep your windows closed during this 

time. If you have any questions or concerns, 

please call the front desk.  

House Rule 2.3: Door Decor Other than Christmas wreaths on your door, lights and other decorations on your unit door, lanai and windows are not allowed. 

Shopping Carts Please return all shopping carts to the parking level 

that you borrowed it from. Please do not leave shopping carts in the hallways, by the elevators, the 

trash room or in your unit. 

Facility Reservations Pets

House Rule 4.2: Boxes Collapse all boxes and place them in the red bin at the loading dock. No cardboard boxes should be shoved 

down the trash chute or left in the trash room. 

If and when you plan to add a four‐legged, furry addition to your ohana, please keep in mind: 

No pet may exceed sixty (60) pounds in weight.  

For identification purposes, Capitol Place dog tags are mandatory. 

When relieving your dogs, please use the designated area at the dog park or grass strips near Kukui Street. Please avoid using the lawns on Queen Emma Street.  

Your pet needs to be on a leash or carried when in the common areas. 

Every year, a dog fee of $75.00, an Annual Pet Documentation Form and supporting documents are due. 

Carpet Corridor Cleaning DryCare Hawaii will be here to clean the hallway corridor carpets on October 1st & 2nd from 9am‐3pm.

To make this Halloween safe and fun if you are choosing to go off property for festivities, please take time to review the safety tips below: 

Avoid trick‐or‐treating alone. Walk in groups or with a trusted adult. 

Fasten reflective tape to costumes and bags to help drivers and others see you. 

Wear well‐fitting costumes and shoes to prevent trips and falls. 

Hold a flashlight while trick‐or‐treating to help you see and others see you.  

Examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them. 

Eat only factory‐wrapped treats. Avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers. 

Eat and drink to enjoy but not to excess.  Don’t drink and drive! Also, do not ride with 

anyone who has had too much to drink. Call a sober family member, friend or taxi to pick you up from your location.  

Hallowballoo If you’re looking for huge crowds, but you hate 

Waikīkī, Hallowballoo is the place to be. Expect about 15,000 costumed party‐goers to pack the streets of 

the Chinatown Arts District. This music and arts festival is free, but a $10 wristband will give you 

access to nine different clubs. This year, bounce to music from 

New Orleans musician Big Freedia, instrumentalist David Lindley and Nigerian‐American 

soul musician Iyeoka. Saturday, October 25, Free from 5:30‐10 p.m. (all ages), $10‐20 

wristbands for Club Hallowballoo from 10 p.m.‐2 a.m. (21+ only) 

Pet Walk 2014 Come on down to Magic Island at Ala 

Moana Park on Sunday, October 

12th at 7am for the Annual Pet Walk! 

Thousands celebrate the donations they’ve collected with the big mahalo party featuring food, fun and 

entertainment for pets and people. Games include a pet costume contest, pet float competition, great giveaways and so much more! Register online or
