FNB BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2013

There are only few days to "FNB Business Excellence Awards" and we can finally start the countdown! Our annual event "FNB Business excellence awards“ will be held on 21st November 2013, at The Wanderers Illovo. We are pleased to announce that the m.c. of the evening will be Gareth Cliff and the guest speaker there will be Dr. John Demartini.

In 1999, the Board of Directors of the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries decided that the time had come to begin selecting and awarding South Africa's most successful Italian entrepreneurs: this year is the 14th edition. The awards are now known as The Italian - South African Chamber of Trade and Industries/ FNB Business Excellence Awards , and is a true celebration of Italian/South African individuals , as well as companies that have excelled in different areas of business.Currently the awards are: Business Person of the Year, Business Enterprise of the Year, Young Upcoming Entrepreneur of the Year and Honorary Chairperson's Special Award. It's also a charity event in aid of Little Eden www.littleeden.org.za. “Non è tutto oro quello che luccica – Sudafrica & Italia –Traceability & best practices”.

From 22st to 25th October, a delegation of 5 South African companies and Mariagrazia Biancospino Secretary Geeral of Italian South African Chamber of Commerce, were invited to Vicenza to attend a workshop on the goldsmith and silversmith industry.

The 5 South African companies have travelled to Vicenza for a series of meetings with 30 Italian counterparts, within the project: “Non è tutto oro quello che luccica – Sudafrica&Italia – Tracciabilità e Best Practices”.

The conference, is part of the project, which is co-financed by Unioncamere, on the traceability of voluntary precious metals, and the fashion industry, which aims to increase the business of luxury Made in Italy in South Africa, thanks to a transparent system of traceability' of products.

Born from the collaboration between Made in Vicenza-Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Vicenza - and the Italian-South African Chamber of Commerce, the workshop was structured in different phases: selection of South African buyers and their Italian counterparts, organization of places where the parties have met and have talked about the opportunity of the co-operation and the development of the market.

“Non è tutto oro quello che luccica – Sudafrica & Italia –Traceability & best practices”.

• Dal 22 al 25 Ottobre, una delegazione formata da 5 aziende sudafricane si è recata a a Vicenza per la parte finale del progetto “Non è tutto oro quello che luccica – Sudafrica&Italia – Tracciabilità e Best Practices”.

• La delegazione accompagnata dal Segretario Genrerale Mariagrazia Biancospino ha avuto modo di inconrare circa 30 controparti italiane. Questa missione rientra nell’ambito del progetto, cofinanziato da Unioncamere, sulla tracciabilita’ volontaria dei metalli preziosi e del settore fashion, che ha l’obiettivo di incrementare il business del luxury made in Italy in Sudafrica, grazie ad un sistema trasparente di tracciabilita’ dei prodotti.

• Nato dalla collaborazione tra Made in Vicenza- Azienda Speciale della Camera di Commercio di Vicenza - e la Camera di Commercio Italo-Sudafricana, il workshop si e’ strutturato in diverse fasi che sono andate dalla selezione dei buyers sudafricani e delle loro controparti italiane, all’organizzazione vera e propria di business meeting dove i soggetti si sono incontrati e hanno parlato di opportunita’ di collaborazione e sviluppo del mercato. Il lavoro svolto dalle Camere dei due paesi e’ stato fondamentale e si ritiene che il progetto possa avere importanti ricadute economiche. L’obiettivo e’ stato quello di creare trasparenza e fiducia tra produttore e consumatore attraverso l’indicazione dei luoghi di lavorazione delle principali fasi del processo produttivo e delle principali caratteristiche del prodotto in tema di salubrita’, sostenibilita’ ambientale e responsabilita’ sociale d’impresa. The Marchio Ospitalita’ Italiana project was initiated and

launched in Italy in 1997 by the Unioncamere and ISNART

(National Institute for Tourism Research), in collaboration with

Fipe (Italian Federation of Public Enterprises) and the Italian

Chambers of Commerce (CCIE) active throughout the world.

The primary objectives of this project are to develop and

promote Italian agro-alimentary products, to give real value

both to Italian culinary culture and to the image of Italian

restaurants abroad that respect the quality standards

associated with traditional Italian hospitality, to create an

international network within which and around which events

can be organized to promote Italian products of the highest

quality, and to create new opportunities and occasions to

promote Italian restaurants around the world (RIM) and the
