Independence Day is commonly asso- ciated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carni- vals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, fa- mily reunions, political speeches and ceremo- nies, in addition to various other public and pri- vate events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. 4th of July is the national day of the United States of America.

On July 28th AC and Binational Center Academic Department

conducted the monthly workshop. Ricardo Mendienta, BNC

teacher was the guest speaker and he covered different

technicques and methodologies to increase the attention of

ELLs in the classroom.

The reading club added 3 new members to the

monthly session conducted by Franklin Tellez, BNC

Academic Coordinator. The topic was “FAMOUS

VOTE” .

On July 14th Jeannet Castillo, BNC English Teacher vis-

ited the AC to learn more about social media tools useful

for English teaching. AC coordinator gave her a two hour

hands on training session that helped her learn the diffe-

rent ways to use FACEBOOK, YOU TUBE and other social

media outlets for English Teaching.

A group of 15 students from Ave Maria University visited American Corner,

visitor toured the host library and learned about the new resourses available at

the AC: audiobooks and the eLibraryUSA databases.
