Every individual contributes to our success as a collaborative school. When people ask me why I do what I do, I always come back to my belief that as a teacher I make a difference in the lives of as many students as I can. Teachers are so much more than just educators and do more than teach. We are mentors, confidants and friends and our impact extends far beyond the classroom. What we do at Jugiong, every day, is to create opportunities for our students and school community, now and into the future. What we do at Jugiong each day has a positive impact on the futures of the young people in our care and, therefore, bodes well for the future of our world. What we see at Jugiong are students that are learning for the love of it, students that have been taught how to think, students that are excited about learning, students that feel capable of success and in control of their learning. Students that learn by doing with a deep sense of satisfaction for what they produce. Students that will be equipped for the rapid changes that face them. Walt Disney said, ‘You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful idea in the world, but it requires people to make the dream reality'. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have contributed to our school community: To the parents of Jugiong, thank you for your support and tireless efforts in promoting our school and helping in so many ways to ensure a strong school community. Thank you all parents and community members for the passionate support of all things Jugiong and for giving me the opportunity to work in partnership with you to give the greatest gift of all, for all of our children – the gift of education. I would also like to express my deep gratitude to our P&C. I thank them for their time, their commitment and their ongoing support, trust and encouragement of my vision for their children. And to my staff – my team. Confucius stated: “If your plan is for one year, plant rice. If your plan is for ten years, plant trees. If your plan is for one hundred years, educate children.” My staff have been deeply invested in finding and nurturing the immense potential inside all students at Jugiong so that they are equipped to explore the boundless possibilities that lie ahead of them. To do this takes determination, hard work and commitment. I thank all of my teaching and support staff who have invested so much of themselves and their tremendous expertise in the pursuit of our vision for the benefit of our students and our school. I count myself extremely privileged to work with such a dedicated team. To the students of Jugiong: A man named Ken Hakuta said “People will try to tell you that all the great opportunities have been snapped up. In reality, the world changes every second, blowing new opportunities in all directions, including yours”. So, I give you this advice: Believe that opportunity is everywhere and all around you and keep loving every moment of your learning at Jugiong. Thank you all for such an amazing journey as Principal. It’s been a privilege. I know that 2018 will be an exciting year for you all. Have a wonderful Christmas and safe holidays. Newsletter Term 4 Week 10 2017

Well, just like that it is the end of the school year! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, staff,

families and community members for their kindness and support throughout the year. I have had the most wonderful

time here at Jugiong getting to know you all. I am going to miss you all dearly – especially my 10 little squirts in the

K-2 classroom! However, this is not goodbye, it is more of a ‘see you soon’ as I will ensure I am not a stranger.
