Welcome to this first Maximaphily Newsle0er!

I send gree'ngs from New Zealand to all Delegates, exhibitors and collectors.

I would like to encourage everyone to enter exhibi'ons that include the Maximaphily class – it is impor-

tant to show the world, as well as exhibitors and collectors of other classes, that Maximaphily is as inte-

res'ng and challenging as any other class.

Some good news – a FIP Commissions Working Group has been set up to make the Guidelines of all

classes easier to understand with common defini'ons of Treatment, Importance, Knowledge, Condi'on,

Rarity and Presenta'on. Ma0ers specific to each class will remain.

Website – hopefully this will be modernised either late this year or early 2018. The aim will be to make it

more user friendly with up to date content.

If you have any queries please let me know.

Here are the Brazil's maximaphily ac'vi'es in 2016:

Brazil's Maximum Cards:

- 81 new different MC’s were created whit Brazilian stamps issued in 2016 (79 with comemora've stamps and 2 with persona-

lized stamps);

- Using 81 of the 121 (4 personalized and 117 comemora've) Brazilian stamps issued in 2016;

- No one MC’s issued by the Brazilian Mail (Correios);

The Brazilian Maximaphily Club ac'vi'es:

- 6 new ar'cles on Maximaphily newsle0ers and magazines;

- 152 associates (2 new members joined in 2016) distributed on 16 Brazilian States and 9 others countrys;

- The best 2015 Brazilian MC contest;

MAXIESPAÑA 2017 - MAXISPAIN 2017 - First european exhibi'on of maxi-

maphily celebrated in Spain.

From 10 to 13 May 2017, the first European Exhibi'on of Maximaphily

organized by the Spanish Federa'on of Philatelic Socie'es was held in Avi-

lés MAXISPAIN 2017, together with JUVENIA 2017, a na'onal exposi'on of

youth philately and with FEPA recogni'on. Par'cipated 42 collec'ons, 28

in MAXIESPAÑA, 2 of them in the Official Class and 14 who passed to the

JUVENIA and were qualified by their Jury.

The Jury of MAXISPAIN was chaired by Nicos Rangos (FIP), Juan Antonio

Casas Pajares (FIP) secretary, Anny Boyard (FIP), Rosario D'Agata (Na'onal)

and Eduardo Escalada-Goicoechea (FIP Expert for Fakes). The Grand Prix

Town Hall of Avilés was granted to José Palma Azúa, from Spain, "Architectural art in Europe seeks the divinity" Gold Grande

medal with 92 points and in the class of 1 frame the collec'on with highest score was taken The Asturian Federa'on of Philate-

lic Socie'es Award of Spanish Alfredo Riera Vich "Basic Series of Alfonso XIII - Cadet" 90 points.

Seminar FEPA Maximaphily - MAXISPAIN 2017 - AVILÉS 13 MAY 2017

As part of the MAXISPAIN 2017 program, on May 13, the SEMINAR FEPA

MAXIMAPHILY was celebrated. It was divided into two parts: In the first

part, Nicos Rangos and Eduardo Escalada-Goicoechea taught about the

fakes in the philately, it was made very clear that fakes do not only affect

maximaphily. Sharing knowledge is the best way to succeed in the fight

against counterfeits and retouched pieces. In the second part I spoke with

"Let's Talk Maximaphily", a review of the Regula'ons Maximaphily.

Hello from Helsinki !

This year, un'l today, about 60 individual MCs were made in Finland and about 15 in Åland.

There will be more individual MCs made later on in September and October; about 15 – 20 in Fin-

land and about 10 in Åland.

No MC-exhibi'ons this year.

Réalisa'ons maximaphiles :

- En 2016, 87 cartes-maximum différentes ont été réalisées par le Service Nouveautés-France des Maximaphiles Français.

De très intéressantes C.M. ont été réalisées par des collec'onneurs individuels à par'r des « Collectors » émis officiellement

par La Poste .

- Concernant la réalisa'on des CM, il faut dire que les difficultés rencontrées pour obtenir des cartes postales et de bonnes

oblitéra'ons concordantes sont plus importantes et nécessitent des déplacements dans toute la France pour faire des oblitéra-

'ons ordinaires, mais courageusement les Maximaphiles Français con'nuent à œuvrer pour une maximaphilie de qualité.

-Nouveautés étrangères : Les correspondances se poursuivent avec des associa'ons maximaphiles perme0ant ainsi de faire

des échanges très fructueux au niveau interna'onal.

Informa'on, forma'on et publica'on :

- Tout au long de l’année des conférences ont été données à l’occasion de Congrès régionaux ainsi que dans plusieurs associa-

'ons philatéliques en France.

- Les membres de la commission na'onale de maximaphilie se réunissent pour harmoniser le travail des jurés en regard des

nouveaux textes de la FIP.

- Un nouveau catalogue des CM de France 1901 à 2016 a été édité,en collabora'on avec les édi'ons Yvert et Tel-

lier .Publica'on des Maximaphiles Français- Edi'on 2017 (1500 reproduc'ons de Cartes-Maximum et 6 600 'mbres-poste).

Vie associa've :

- Ce0e année, une nouvelle équipe au sein des Maximaphiles Français a été élue. Nicolas CUZOL a été élu à la Présidence de

l'associa'on et Pascal BANDRY, Vice-Président.

Les partenariats jeunesse avec les associa'ons adhérentes à la FFAP sont en augmenta'on.

Communica'on :

- Le site Internet www.Maximaphiles-Francais.org connaît une fréquenta'on de plus en plus importante (400 000 visiteurs). Il

fait toujours le lien entre les différents sites maximaphiles et philatéliques du monde en'er ainsi que les sites culturels néces-

saires à la maximaphilie.

Les MF, c'est où, quand et comme vous voulez !

Il est facilement accessible aux table0es, smartphones et autres mobiles à travers les “QRCode” et se prolonge sur les réseaux

sociaux.

Exposi'ons interna'onales

La France était représentée par une déléga'on française et de nombreuses collec'ons qui ont remporté un brillant palmarès -

Par'cipa'on au jury d’Anny Boyard - France :

- en Italie : « Challenge européen de maximaphilie » à SESTRI LEVANTE du 17 au 19 février 2017, avec par'cipa'on au jury : 3

collec'ons (palmarès : 1 GV et 2 V).

- en Espagne : « MAXI ESPANA 2017 » à AVILES du 10 au 13 mai 2017, 5 collec'ons adultes (1 G.Or et 4 Or ) et 4 collec'ons

jeunesse (4 V).

- Pascal BANDRY s'est rendu à Tampere (Finlande) en mai, à l'occasion de l'exposi'on européenne (Finlandia 2017).Rencontre

avec Jenny Banfield :Présidente de la Commission FIP de maximaphilie.

- Par'cipa'on de Pascal BANDRY au Symposium européen des jeunes philatélistes (FEPA) organisé à Finlandia 2017.

Malgré les difficultés que la philatélie passe, la vie de l' Associazione Italiana di Maximafilia (AIM) a été très ac've.

Notre revue, NOTIZIARIO AIM, est publiée trois fois par an. Le site internet, www.maximafilia.it, a une fréquenta'on très im-

portante, et même au dehors de l' Italie. Pendant 2016 l' AIM a réalisé 43 CM de l' Italie et de nombreuses réalisa'ons per-

sonnelles.

Exposi'ons.

La plus importante a été le "Challenge Européen L. More-

ra"(Sestri Levante, du 17 au 19 février) organsé par le Cercle

Philatélique de la ville, surtout par Claudia Massucco, en col-

labora'on avec l'AIM et le président Rosario D' Agata.

En compé''on,21 collec'ons de 8 pays européens: d' autres

collec'ons hors concours et en Cour d' Honneur.

Des collec'onneurs de plusieurs pays sont venus personnelle-

ment dont Chih-Ping de Taiwan. Les vainqueurs du Challenge

ont été les Pays-Bas. Très belle, la collec'on de Mr Van der

Leeden qui a obtenu une médaille de Grand Or.

En mai MAXIESPANA 2017 à Avilés: en jury Rosario D' Agata

et 4 exposants italiens (2 O et 2 GV) et 3 jeunes.

En octobre prochain, du 6 au7, à Genova, il y aura l' Exposi'on Na'onale.

The weekend of 26-27 August the New Zealand Judges Associa'on held its annual judges training seminar. 17 judges and 4

exhibitors were involved in a heated discussion on judging Maximaphily with examples of good and bad cards and exhibits.

Postmarks that were allowable was the ho0est topic.

Roumanie - Romania

La principale préoccupa'on de la Société Roumaine de Maximaphilie «Dr. Valériu Neaga», pour l’année 2017, sera l'édi'on

d'un l'album d’art, grâce à l'u'lisa'on de cartes maximum, appelé «L'impressionnisme, fascina'on et couleur» - auteurs Vasile

et Claudiu Doros. L’ouvrage expose 340 peintures, signées par 70 ar'stes, avec des explica'ons amples, peintures situées dans

80 musées et nombreuses collec'ons privées en Europe et en Amérique. C’est une présenta'on de l'évolu'on et la diffusion

de la peinture impressionniste en Europe dans les XIX – XX -siècles. Les cartes maximum u'lisées dans l'album ont été faites

avec des 'mbres de 50 pays sur tous les con'nents. L'album sera distribué gratuitement aux personnes en Roumanie et dans

les pays européens qui ont promu la maximaphilie roumaine et à ceux qui ont contribué au développement du phénomène

mondial de la maximaphilie.

Singapour - Singapore

I have an update on Maximaphily ac'vi'es in Singapore. We have some keen interest amongst local stamp club members.

One frame exhibits, Chinese New Year and A0rac'ons of Singapore were seen at FourNa'on Stamp Exhibi'on –in Singapore

2016 and Thailand 2017 respec'vely.

Collectors were very ac've in the making of such Maximaphily covers regularly and I can see more collectors moving into this

area of collec'ng.

One top of this, the Singapore Philatelic Museum con'nue to hold a na'onal school compe''on for the Primary and Secondary

school level.

Na'onal Stamp Collec'ng Compe''on (NSCC)

The school group entry of the stamp compe''on was introduced in 2001. The objec've of the annual compe''on is to pro-

mote the study of postage stamps and philatelic materials to learn about Singapore and the world.

Students from Primary and Secondary schools work in groups of four to submit an entry using stamps and philatelic materials

to form a story on a theme of their choice. Entries can be submi0ed in English or in the mother tongue language- Chinese,

Malay or Tamil. Students stand to gain knowledge in topics, pick up research and organisa'on skills, and learn to work with

team members.

Entries are judged and exhibits are conferred with Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. In recent years, top NSCC entries have been

chosen to par'cipate in regional compe''ons such as the Malaysia 2014 World Youth Stamp Exhibi'on and FourNa'on Stamp

Exhibi'on 2016 held in Singapore.

The compe''on is supported by the Ministry of Educa'on.

Number of par'cipants for Year 2017: 344 students / Schools: 11 Secondary Schools; 6 Primary Schools.

Entries exhibited: 16 Gold Award; 42 Silver Award; 27 Bronze Award

Slovaquie - Slovakia

The ac'vity of maximaphily in Slovakia is very minimal. In 2016 I have par'cipated at an exhibi'on in Hunfila, Hungaria and

obtained 2 Large Vermeil Medals. I have produced a total of 4 maximum cards in 2016.

Suisse - Switzerland

L'Associa'on maximaphile suisse a cessé son ac'vité le 31 décembre 2016,

et la réalisa'on de cartes-maximum a été reprise par le Club Philatélique de Meyrin (Genève) en

créant en son sein une sec'on de maximaphilie.

L'équipe qui s'est mise au travail dès janvier 2017 à, à ce jour, procédé à la réalisa'on de 8 cartes-maximum avec la série de

'mbres émise le 2 mars 2017, et 7 autres cartes-maximum avec celle du 11 mai dernier. Actuellement l’équipe est en re-

cherche pour réaliser un même nombre de cartes-maximum avec les 'mbres qui seront émis le 7 septembre prochain.
