We are now into our second week of school and all are settling in to the new year very nicely. Our middle school and high school students have just finished a week in which they participated in various activities meant to build relationships, teamwork, camaraderie and learning in our natural environment. This is a unique program to Big Sky schools and a tradition that allows the culture of the school to be set early in the year and provide the foundation for students and staff to build relationships towards excellent outcomes for our students. Construction on Ophir Elementary School is nearly complete, with the Learning Commons remaining the only space yet to be completed. Our contractor finished on schedule and the remainder is also anticipated to be finished on schedule. The students are really enjoying the newly installed landscaping and we look for them to enjoy the facility for years to come. Our Big Horns and Miners activities are in full swing, so we look forward to seeing you around campus in support of our athletics and activities. Have a great weekend and thanks for letting us work with your children. In Partnership, Dustin Shipman

Coffee for your thoughts? By participating in the community needs assessment survey, you will help your community better understand the emerging and on-going needs within Gallatin, Park, and Meagher counties. The in-formation gathered will provide the Human Resources Develop-ment Council (HRDC) and other community organizations with information as to who and what partners/agencies may be working on issues and where gaps in community services lie. This assessment offers a focus on local conditions and an analysis of the opportunities and barriers for all of its residents. Every re-spondent will receive a gift card to Higher Ground Coffee and be entered into a drawing for a $200 grocery gift certificate!

The survey is live now and open through September 15th http://www.thehrdc.org/news-info/community-needs-assessment/ The Lucky Horse Riders
