Think Pink On the 17th of May Danetree went Pink! The children and staff dressed in pink to raise money for Cancer Research. This yearly event is in memory of Jane Mingard, a much loved and very happy, cheerful member of staff, who enjoyed working with the children. She unfortunately passed away this time of year a few years ago. Four wonderful Year 6 children, Scarlet Crampton, Abbey Bunton, Frank Brown and Connie Archer gave up their free time to sell a variety of goods. In addition to the collection bucket, the selling of badges, hair braids and a whole host of other commodities the children could barely keep up with the demand for the items. I was also very touched when I was approached by three wonderful Year 4 girls who asked if they could run a coffee morning for staff to raise even more money! Emily Davis, Charlotte Hargreaves and Hannah Whitehouse pictured here raised a lot of money with their delicious cakes and scrumptious milkshakes! In the afternoon, the staff and children looked fantastic in their pink attire as they lined the playground for our annual balloon release! I would personally like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our wonderful and generous parents, carers and children at Danetree! You are so supportive, and your generosity has raised an incredible £612.00!!! Mrs Davison, Year 3 Teacher

The Autism Show The Autism Show is the national event for Autism, and provides the largest collection of autism specific information in the UK. It is being held at ExCel London from 17-18th June. For more information, visit www.autismshow.co.uk

Parent Workshop Our next workshop, led by Mrs Richards, will be held on Wednesday 8th June at 6-7pm . Please come to this workshop if you would you like to find out: What does the school do for outstanding learners? How can you support your outstanding learner at home? A letter will be distributed regarding this workshop in due course. Please return the slip attached to indicate your attendance.

Healthy Schools Parliament A reminder that a healthy tuck shop is going to be introduced to Danetree as a great treat with support from the representatives of the Healthy Schools Parliament! We will be selling luxurious fruit smoothies. One fruit smoothie will cost 50p and they will be sold on Tuesday 24th May during the year 3/4 and 5/6 break time. We hope you enjoy the smoothies! Safiyah and Suranne, Year 6 Healthy Schools Pupil Parliament Members

Parking Reminder Please can we remind parents and carers not to drive onto the school site at any time. This includes drop off in the morning and collection from After School Clubs.
