Colour Jog-a-thon STEAM Day

Everyone is looking forward to next Friday’s Colour Jog-a-thon STEAM Day.

There are a number of exciting activities for the students to take part in throughout the morning and then we end the day with the whole-school Colour Jog-a-thon at 1.40pm (parents welcome). Remember to keep signing up sponsors as there are some great prizes for our top fundraisers as well as a chance to win a $250 bike voucher or some high tech electronic gadgets.

Commendation Medallions Galore!

Congratulations to Allira, Emilie, Thomas, Jessica, TeAhu, Aspen, Kynan, Isaac, Molly, Rory, Honey and Eliza for receiving all 4 of the new “CORE Values Certificates.” These hardworking students were awarded with a Commendation Medallion at today’s assembly. Keep up the amazing work everyone. I am looking forward to seeing who our next group of medal winners will be.

SPORTS REPORT

This term the KIDDO team have been attending East Victoria Park Primary school to complete some Fundamental Movement Skills sessions with our Kindy and Pre-primary students. This fantastic program run by The University of Western Australia is aimed at improving our student’s physical literacy and promotes positive attitudes and values towards physical education. The students have been having a blast learning new skills that are based on the basic skills required in many sports. The EVPPS Colour Jogathon STEAM Day is fast approaching. Each student should have received a note which includes all the relevant information, a permission form, sponsor ship form and Major prize page. Please make sure the permission forms are returned by Monday 4 November, with sponsorship forms and money to be returned by Friday 8 November. Don’t let the kids have all the fun, parents are welcome to join in during the Colour Jogathon starting at 1.40pm. Happy Fundraising

MUSIC MATTERS

Dinostars! The Musical performed by Year 1 and 2 Performing Arts Students is on at: 2pm Monday 9th December 2019 in the Undercover Assembly Area. Parents of year 1 and 2 students are all invited to come along.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT (PBS)

This term during the weekly PBS Assemblies and lessons we have been learning about effective listening skills. Students learnt about the different ways they can show active listening as well as the way this makes the person feel. We learnt that active listeners show warmth, respect and empathy. The next PBS focus is based around showing respect in the playground.

OUTDOOR SUSTAINABILITY DAY

On Thursday the 14th of November (Week 5) we'll be hosting Outdoor Sustainability Day. This environmentally friendly event will help activate children's love of the outdoors while helping them become sustainable students. There will be a special assembly at 9am in the Undercover Area which will include a performance by the Waste Wise Warriors, the official launch of our Munching Monsters Picture Book, a talk by the founder of Greenbatch and performance by Junior Choir. During the day, students will participate in a variety of incursions and outdoor activities. All parents, carers and family members are welcome to join!

P & C NEWS

The P&C’s Bingo night will be taking place this Saturday November 2nd at Harold Hawthorne Hall, Carlisle. We have a long list of amazing prices up for grabs from local businesses and a whole lot more. It’s not too late to grab your tickets, head to the ‘East Victoria Park P&C’ Facebook page to find further details and purchase your tickets before they run out! We look forward to seeing you all there for a night full of fun and laughter.

Uniform Shop News

We are currently in the process of changing over to a new supplier and as a result of the transition process, we are experiencing some stock issues. At the moment, we have no stock of polo shirts in sizes 4, 6 and 8. We have also sold out of wide brim hats in a medium size. Our new supplier is manufacturing the new polo shirts and hats and we hope to have stock in the next few weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience.

SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOP Open on a Wednesday morning from 8.30am – 9.15am.

COMMUNITY NEWS THANK YOU FOR THE DONATION OF BALLS

We would like to express our thanks to Mr Tom Atlas, a neighbour nearby, who kindly donated two bags of soccer balls and footballs to our school, for our students to enjoy while playing sport. Your generosity of this sporting equipment is greatly appreciated by our EVPPS community. Once again, thank you.
