Meadows School Newsletter 09 April 2016 www.duffieldmeadows.derbyshire.sch.uk General Information Important News – it is with mixed feelings that I need to report to you that two of our much-loved teachers will be retiring at the end of the summer term after many years at this school: Mrs Pat James and Mrs Debbie Oakley. Of course I’m happy for them as they plan their retirement but also sad for the school’s loss. They will be missed by all of us and you can be sure we will give them a memorable send off. Home-School Communications – Mrs Candy Pankhurst, our school secretary, has been busy gathering all of your parent email addresses with a view to creating class email groups for letters and information. Please watch your inboxes over the next few weeks for a ‘test’ email as we test the new system. I am told there still a few missing email addresses, so if you think it’s you then please send a message to Candy on: [email protected]. uk Please be assured that your email address will not be visible to any other parents. Parent Governor Vacancies – there are currently three vacancies for parent governors. Look out for an information letter coming soon from Sarah Everington, clerk to governors. This will explain the process for applying and an overview of the role. They raised £66.55 at their recent cake stall, to be spent on bird food, new bird feeders and hedgehog houses.
