MARK YOUR CALENDARS!As many of you know, we had to cancel the original
Jr. Rangers Catch on the Field event (April 13) due to weather. Well, exciting news! The official reschedule of that Catch on the Field event will be Saturday, August 3 from 10-11 AM. The Rangers face the Detroit Tigers at 7:05 PM that night. As a reminder, you do not have to have tickets to that day’s game in order to participate in Catch on the Field. All you need is your Jr. Rangers VIP badge and a glove! Keep in mind that there will also be a second Jr. Rangers exclusive Catch on the Field event on Saturday, September 14.
To RSVP for either Catch on the Field events, please email [email protected]. All you have to do is list the name of your Jr. Ranger(s) and their adult guest.
T he Rangers season has gotten off to an exciting start! The first month of play began with a series win versus the Chicago Cubs during the final Opening
Weekend at Globe Life Park. The team then rolled into a battle versus the Houston Astros and took two of three from the in-state rival. It’s worth noting that the Rangers have won both series versus Houston so far this season. Other highlights from April include 15 and 14-run offensive explosions in back-to-back days against Seattle, Mike Minor’s complete game shutout versus the Angels and of course…Baby Shark.
The Rangers lineup has been led by slugger Joey Gallo, and veterans Shin-Soo Choo and Elvis Andrus so far this season. Choo had a seven-game hit streak from the leadoff
spot, and the Rangers’ beloved shortstop, Andrus, is leading the team in hits.
As for Joey Gallo…he has not only been one of the best hitters on the Rangers in 2019, but he has been one of the best in all of baseball! Gallo ranks second in the American League in home runs, seventh in RBI and was named American League Player of the Week on April 21. Not to mention, his 11 home runs broke the Texas Rangers franchise record for most home runs through the first month of the season!
The pitching staff has been led by ace Mike Minor and show stopping reliever, Shawn Kelley. Minor already has three wins and 53 strikeouts on the season, while Kelley has only allowed two runs in 14 innings pitched.
