CHARITABLE TAX LAWSAlthough Charitable Tax Laws have changed, Hope Haven’s mission has remained the same – to assist persons with disabilities to live a life of opportunity and well-being.
What can donors do to retain deductibility of donations?
One strategy you may consider is to “bunch” donations in one year. While “bunching” may help with itemized deductions, Hope Haven will still need to rely on annual donations.
Another strategy may be contributing through your IRA. Instead of taking the income on a given year, consider donating the income to Hope Haven.
Although we face uncertainty of the impact the new law will have on our charitable giving, we feel fortunate in knowing our donors are wonderful people who have our mission and success truly at the forefront of theirgenerosity.
Please consult with your tax advisor.
GUGELER WENT TO NASHVILLEWe enjoyed the Country Music Hall of Fame where several of us wanted to sit in Elvis Presley’s famous 1960 gold Cadillac with its pearl paint made from crushed diamonds and fish scales and 24 karate gold plated trim. Dukes of Hazard Museum was another favorite as well as the General Jackson paddle boat. A tour of the city on a double decker bus and a stop at a Honky Tonk were loved by all. We visited the Parthenon and the Grand Ole Opry.
We enjoyed great southern food, beautiful scenery, and shopping. This is a trip we will never forget. We are already thinking about where our adventures will take us next!
