“SOLIDARITY MONTH IN

OUR SCHOOL”

We have had the opportunity of living many activities related to SOLIDARITY on August, one of them was the celebration of the “Solidarity Mass” in which every grades prepared a box with meals as a present for those families that need our help. It was a beautiful mass celebrated on August the 18th. Some students carrying the presents.

According to your opinion, How was the San Marcos Cup 2010? Well, I think that in general, girls and boys were fantastic and I would like to say that what I admire is the “FAIR PLAY” they play with energy and motivation but they don’t make faults and that is an important quality in sports. I want to thank all that families that received students who came from another city and I want to thank our school for the support. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Tell us about the last events according to Basketball. In the last BICENTENARY CUP. The girl team played against Santa María basketball team and our school won. So they are travelling to Valdivia on October , 2nd,with Jorge Jiménez their couch and I am going too as a head of delegation. We are very proud and happy about that.

BICENTENARY BASKETBALL CUP CHAMPIONS!!!

The girl team of the school trained by the teacher Jorge Jimenez, won the match in the BICENTENARY CUP on August , 11th . It was a great match. The Boys got the second place in this Cup. Congratulations to all of them!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

“MISIONARY CHILDHOOD” This group was created last year by our beloved “Padre MEMO” and this month they celebrate the birthday Nº 1 that is why they have planned many activities, one of them was collecting clothes , toys and meals for the families that live behind the open market “AGRO”. Marcelo González is the person in charge of this amazing group. Congratulations.

A NICE VISITOR!

Have you met Meegan? Ok. If you haven´’t, don’t worry you will meet her soon. She is a nice and young lady who comes from United States and she will be with us as a teacher till next

November. Meegan is teaching in tenth, eleventh and twelveth grades and she has a workshop on Wednesdays afternoon. Her classroom is on the second floor of the library. Visit her and talk

to her in English or Spanish it’s up to you.

THE VIRGIN VISIT. On August , 15th the Virgin who is visiting Chile, arrived to Arica and she visited our school on Monday 16th, it was a short but significant ceremony with songs and prayers . The Virgen was made of wood in Ecuador and her clothes were made in Chile.

“E X O D U S” It is a weekend specially prepared for students of 12th grades, it was performed on August , 6th and 7th . The students were the protagonists and according to some of them it was a wonderful experience. A group of teachers and education assistants went with them. It was planned by “PASTORAL”

NATIONAL ARCHERY COMPETITION. The competition was carried out in “Centro de Alto Rendimiento” in Santiago and some of our students got excellent results. Pedro Soto Pedraza , 1st place . David Soto Pedraza. 1st place. Ricardo Soto Pedraza. 2nd place . Ricardo Catalán 3rd place.
