    years before retiring.

Through the years Terry has lived in Cen-

tral City all of his life until 2015 when he

moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. Terry states he

Terry enjoys collecting stamps, coins and foot-

ball cards. He enjoys reading so he can “pick

    up on new ideas”.

Terry loves to go bowling and enjoyed taking

Cindy Mandl Cindy Mandl was born May

6, 1959 in Seward Nebraska. Cin-

    dy’s siblings are; Cathy Doggett

    Stanton) and JD Hoover

    (Ainsworth); two 1/2 brothers-Jeff

    and Channing Hoover; one 1/2

sister-Terra; two step-sisters-Tena and Sue; and one

step-brother Lynn. Cindy grew up in the Seward/

York area. The family moved to Burwell when their

    mother remarried; then lived at Nelson, Nebraska;

Cindy went to Staplehurst Lutheran Parochial

School, Burwell and Nelson Jr/Sr High and graduat-

ed in 1977. She then went to Platte Community Col-

lege in Columbus. She then lived out in Castle Rock,

CO., then moved back to Nebraska.

Cindy married Todd Mandl on October 28,

1989 in Stanton. She recalls that Todd’s dad,

George, was good friends with her sister Cathy and

brother-in-law John. George thought it would be a

good idea for Todd to ask Cindy out. And here they

are 30 years later! She jokes that Todd has a lot of

patience. Todd and Cindy have two children; Sa-

mantha (Wayne, Ne) and Marty (Benkelman, Ne).

    They have six grandchildren.

Other special people in Cindy’s life include:

Jan Reese and Thelma Kirkland, as she worked with

both for many years until they retired. She states,

“They made me who I am at the Stanton Health

    Center”. Two amazing women!

Cindy enjoys GOLF!! And spending time with

her grandchildren. An interesting story that Cindy

remembers about her/family is that in 2009, her

    great nephew Caden Doggett got a “Hole in One”;

her father-in-law George Mandl got a “Hole in One”

on Father’s Day at Club 91 in Leigh and she got a

“Hole in One” during women’s league at Elkhorn

Acres in Stanton all in the same year and time.

Something like that doesn’t happen very often.

Congratulations Cindy! This year marks 30 years of service for Cindy.

Thank you for all you do Cindy Mandl!

Thank you to the Horn T Zoo for joining us in October. The residents loved seeing all the

animals they brought. They learned many facts about the animals and were even able to pet

them. The smiles and laughs we heard from the residents were priceless.

her future husband on a Saturday night in Stanton. She said they were just

“walking around, then went cruising Stanton’s Main Street”. Alfred and Ella

have four children; James (North Platte), Jeanne (Crawfordsville, IN), Carol (Stanton), and Kelly

(Stanton). Ella has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ella states that she has other
