Postproduction Workshop Series 2016 The New Mexico Post Alliance is offering a Postproduction Workshop Series, 2016 in cooperation with UNM Continuing Education. Workshop Details

Workshop #3 Thursday. March 10th, 6 to 8 pm “Editorial Workflows - Digital Camera to Digital Deliverables” with Brad Stoddard of Stoddard Communications. Brad will cover the video postproduction process (workflow), demonstrating non-linear editing tools Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro, and Davinci Resolve. Demonstration and discussion will include importing, media management, metadata, exporting, file formats, and quality checking deliverables. Q&A.

Bio: Brad Stoddard is an award winning filmmaker, writer and cinematographer. His credits include a broad range of feature film, television, documentary projects and educational media. Brad is owner of Stoddard Communications, a New Mexico production/postproduction company and is currently President of the New Mexico Post Alliance. He is experienced in project development, production, postproduction and finishing and maintains excellent relationships with editors, assistants, sound and visual effects artists as a postproduction supervisor. He is a Certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro X and is has extensive workflow design experience in digital acquisition and editorial systems. Workshop #4 Saturday. April 16th, 1 to 3 pm “Post Production Careers: Being on the Cutting Edge of Change” with Steve Milner. Steve will discuss what it is like working in postproduction, the business as a trade and earning your skills on the job. Steve’s discussion will include topics such as always changing post careers, advancement by changing jobs and a group discussion on “How will we bring job opportunities to New Mexico by establishing and growing a thriving post industry.” Steve believes that the postproduction business boils down to billing, and that we can create positions and opportunities to establish NM as new hot bed of postproduction.

Bio: Steven Milner has been a technician in post production for over twenty years at some of the industry’s top houses in Los Angeles and New York. His range of experience includes technical evaluation, editing, telecine mastering and color grading, into addition to lighting design with 3-D software. He has worked closely with world-renown color correction artists at Company 3 in New York and gained exposure to an elite group of clients in the commercial market. Having returned to his native New Mexico, Steven hopes to bring the same level of work to our state.
