Foreign candidates holding an Italian high school diploma are exempt from the assessment. b) Assessment of the candidate’s cultural and musical educational level, with a particular

focus on: 1) music history; 2) theory, rhythmics and musical perception; 3) harmony theory and musical analysis. Candidates holding an Italian pre-academic C level certificate (or equivalent) related to any of the above subjects are exempt from the respective assessment. c) Performance test (the jury can decide to listen only to a part of the programme and can interrupt the performance):

1) Written test on jazz-specific subjects. 2) Performance test - playing and improvising: two tunes (one fast, one slow)

chosen by the student, and that are part of the American Songbook or have become part of the standard repertoire, and/or are part of the songs recorded by Jamie Aebersold. The students are required to bring their own rhythm section, or bring an Aebersold Play along.

3) Listening test: recognition of musical styles, and other general musical parameters.
