PRBI has always believed developing Christ-like character in our young people has lasting impact on our communities.

Through the use of our existing gymnasium:

Young people came to know Jesus Christ at youth events put on by our students. Students responded to the call to serve God at conferences and events. Students built character by participating on sport teams.

Our new university-sized gymnasium & fitness centre will:

Enable PRBI sports teams to practice and develop skills at home. Allow us to host and play competitive games and tournaments on campus. Offer greater opportunities for sports and fitness programs to those living in our area. Create a better venue through which our students can host events on campus (Carnival, Circle of Friends, Conferences, Water Balloon Mania).

Our New Gymnasium and Fitness Centre

We, along with the Town of Sexsmith, are excited about what this new facility will mean to PRBI and the community. We believe sports and fitness is a natural opportunity to build character. Opening our facility for Sexsmith and area residents to use provides excellent opportunities for our students to live out that character and thus build community.

Our groundbreaking was held April 10, 2015, with completion anticipated for early 2016. The expected capital cost for this project is $4,000,000. $3,180,000 has already been raised through pledges, donations, gift in kind, and an estate gift. The remaining funds needed are approximately $820,000.

This facility will be located on the south side of the existing gymnasium.

A new gym would mean that we could host home games. It would also mean that we could host more guests at events like Water Balloon Mania and the Winter Carnival.

The footprint of the new gymnasium, which will be twice the size of the existing gym building, will be 9,400 sq. ft. with an additional 2,700 sq. ft. designated for change rooms, restrooms and showers, folding bleachers, mechanical and storage rooms, lobby, and stairs. There will also be a 2,700 sq. ft. fitness centre which will be on the upper level of the building and will be accessible via stairs or lift.
