Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for EnerCon 2018: The 2nd International Energy Conference to be held on 19–20 July 2018 at the Acacia Hotel, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.
EnerCon 2018 will provide a timely venue for a wide range of stakeholders in the energy sector to share information and insights pertinent to renewable energy adoption and development in the ASEAN and around the world.
Expect plenary presentations from renowned experts and/or practitioners in the field of Energy and the Environment as well as a mini-exhibit of selected energy-related industries and organizations.
Keeping to the theme of this year’s conference, “Energy and the Environment: Challenges and Opportunities amidst ASEAN Integration towards
Inclusive Growth”, we are inviting proposals for presentations on the following thematic areas:
Renewable Energy Policy, Regulation, and
Institutions
Renewable Energy Technologies
Renewable Energy Financing and Public-Private
Partnerships
Renewable Energy and Local Economic
Development
Renewable Energy and the Environment
Philippine Energy Sector and Optimal Energy Mix

Proposals must be submitted via email with “Proposal Submission” in the subject line to [email protected] by 30 April 2018 (5:00 PM GMT+8)
Proposals for presentations should include the following:
1. Title of Presentation
2. Authors – indicate presenting author and / or corresponding author (with contact details: email, mailing address, and telephone number) and institutional/organizational affiliation of each author
3. Abstract of Presentation – a concise description of the purpose, significance, and implications of the presentation (maximum of 200 words)
4. Keyword Set – list of 2-3 keywords clearly describing the main idea of the work
5. Knowledge Focus – choose if the work focuses on (i) Practice, Research, or Theory in either (ii) Economics, Business, Technology, or Policy
6. Theme Selection – select which thematic area categorizes the work
Proposals must be in English and consist of only one page (A4 paper size) in MS Word form (Times
New Roman font size 12).
Multiple proposals from the same authors may be submitted although it is suggested that a different presenting/corresponding author be indicated for each proposal.
Each session will try to include presentations from the various categories of knowledge focus. Thus, submitted proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Suitability to thematic area/session
Relevance to current issues
Local/regional/global applications and
implications
Presenters will be informed of their selection no
later than 30 May 2018 and will then have to
submit their complete presentation (in MS
PowerPoint format) by 15 June 2018.
Selected presenters may be requested to provide
full papers for publication in a refereed journal.

EnerCon 2018 is spearheaded by the Department of Economics (DE),
an academic degree granting unit of the College of Economics and
Management (CEM) of the University of the Philippines Los Banos
(UPLB) in Laguna, Philippines.
Having initiated effors for information exchange
relating the Economics of Energy and
Environment with its National Forum on
Energy Economics 2014 and EnerCon 2015,
the DE intends to expand the knowledge base
on Economics, Business, Technology, and
Policies relating to Energy as well as the impact of
energy generation and use on the Environment
by organizing this triennial event.
