Battery storage is already being used in a wide range of applications and it is continuing to increase in significance for energy supply. The ENERCON E-STORAGE 2300 serves as the power conversion system between a battery (low voltage / DC) and the electric grid (medium voltage / AC). It consists of a bidirectional inverter within a 40-foot container. The ENERCON E-STORAGE 2300 is based on proven ENERCON power components. Together with a battery and an ENERCON controller, the E-STORAGE 2300 can provide system services – such as primary frequency control and smoothing of active power variations from wind farms – thus creating added value for ENERCON‘s customers. A battery can be pre-configured and procured along with the E-STORAGE 2300 according to customer preferences. This battery is not bound to any single manufacturer. Li-Ion cells are the preferred battery technology. The energy content and capacity of the battery are determined by the specific application and the customer’s own requirements.
