The hull is under the 24m rule length for load line and tonnage conventions, with an aft- biased deckhouse and wheelhouse for working under the extreme flare of modern vessels. It has a large forward working deck, and relatively low draft. The result is a compact, high performance and extremely agile tug with excellent stability and good all round vision from the wheelhouse. The vessel to be RAmparts 2500W design by Robert Allan Ltd and to be built to LR classification with notation +100A1 Tug, *IWS, + LMC, UMS for restricted service. Twin Screw Azimuth Stern Drive Terminal / Assist Tug having approximate dimensions of 24.40m LOA x 11.25m Beam (mld) x 4.22 Depth (mld) x 4.88m Draft (max) The propulsion machinery to comprise of two Caterpillar 3516C marine diesel engines each rated at 2350kW (3151 bhp) at 1800 rpm coupled to Schottel SRP 3000 FP azimuth thrusters driving fixed pitch propellers to provide a free running speed ahead of 12 knots and a continuous bollard pull ahead of 70 tonnes with the main engines developing 100% power. Electricity supply of 415 VAC/3-ph/50Hz to be provided by two Caterpillar C4.4 diesel engine driven generating sets of 86 ekW output each running in parallel Hydraulic deck machinery to comprise one MacGregor single drum towing winch forward of 10/2 tonnes pull at 10/50 m/min at first layer, drum capacity for 120m x 52mm UHMWPE synthetic hawser and brake force of 175 tonnes and one Mampaey disc type towing hook of 70 tonnes SWL. Internal fire fighting to include CO2 engine room fire extinguishing system, portable fire extinguishers, fire hydrants and fire detection system according to Class requirement. Sleeping and messing accommodation to be provided for a crew of 6 in single and 2-berth cabins on 2 decks. Air- conditioning to be provided throughout. Life saving equipment to Class requirements to be provided and to include two 6-man inflatable life rafts, 4 life buoys, 8 life jackets, 12 parachute distress signals and 1 set of line throwing apparatus. RAmparts 2500W tug is built to order, with the ability to customise the tug to suit your particular requirements.
