NET Phase Two NET Phase Two, the project tobuild Lines Two and Three ofNottingham’s tram network,has been given finalGovernment sign-off. So Tramlink Nottingham, ourpreferred bidder, has been awardedthe contract to build and operate theextended network to Clifton viaWilford (Line Two) and Chilwell viaBeeston (Line Three), and to takeover the operation of NET Line One.

What’s next? A detailed construction programmeis now being prepared and the firstphase of works will start in earlyJanuary 2012. These will include putting up fencing aroundareas of construction, some felling of trees andclearing vegetation before spring, and movingutility services from out of the way of the tramroutes.A three year construction period is proposed,with services on the new lines planned to startin late 2014.

Keeping youinformed We will contact you to give youadvance notice of when constructionworks are due to take place near you. People/organisations with an interest in landand property which could be required for LinesTwo and Three were formally notified in 2007in the lead up to the public inquiry.

Land will be taken as and when it is needed forthe works and those affected will be informed inplenty of time about when and the extent of thelandtake, and the formal processes involved.

CommunityLiaisonThere will be a Community Liaison Officerfor each of the two lines, who will visitaffected residents, businesses andorganisations to ensure they are keptinformed about the works. This will help toensure that any potential disruption iseffectively managed.
