Although further negotiations arestill required and final funding detailsneed to be approved by bothNottingham City Council and theGovernment, it is expected that acontract to build lines two and three(NET Phase Two) will be signedwith the preferred bidder (TramlinkNottingham) in the autumn.

Construction work could thereforestart on some parts of the new tramlines (to Clifton and Chilwell)by the end of the year.

Keeping you informedOnce the NET Phase Two contract hasbeen awarded we intend to regularlyupdate people along the route aboutconstruction activity.Affected residents, businesses and organisations willbe kept fully informed as the project progresses tohelp them plan accordingly to ensure that anypotential disruption arising from future constructionactivity is effectively managed.

People with an interest in land which could berequired for NET Phase Two were formally notified in2007 in the lead up to the public inquiry. Land will betaken as and when it is needed in advance ofconstruction on each section of the two new lines. Those affected will be informed in plenty of timeabout the timing and extent of the landtake, and theformal processes involved.

Project information will be made availablethrough our website and in many other formsincluding regular newsletters.
