In 2006, NEMO began adapting its shelter technology or elite U.S. Special OperationsForces and launched its Shield product line. AST ExplainedNEMO AirSupported Technology wasdeveloped by NEMO's ounder ater his workon spacesuits and inlatable architectureor NASA. NEMO AST is a system o low-pressure inlatable tubes (called airbeams)and lightweight pumps that provide a highperormance alternative to traditional tentpoles. Airbeams are made o two layers, like abicycle tire. The outer layer provides the shape,strength, and puncture resistance while thethin inner polyurethane bladder does the job o

holding air.

Every NEMO AST tent comes with either thelightweight 3.6 oz oam-illed, welded abricNemoid Foot Pump or the compact 2.3 ozIntegrated Pump. The Integrated Pump is aclever little device we call a lung ampliier.Basically, you blow into a small welded abricpouch and squeeze, repeating this action orabout 10 to 15 seconds until the airbeam is ullyinlated. The squeezing action increases the airpressure to the 5 to 7 psi needed to make theairbeam very sturdy.

Airbeams have remarkable properties that cansave time, ight high winds, and lighten theload on your back. They are aster and easierto set up, and much easier to repair, thantraditional poles. The FAS (Full-Action, Sealed) line o semi-disposable watertight weapons

The FAS Swim is made o a high-strength, lexible polymer ilm and isdesigned or low impact operations where protection rom salt water, dust andcontaminants is critical.

The Helio Pressure Shower SE provides an innovative way to employ

pressurized water in a ree-standing, rugged, portable package or the

many needs o the Warighter. With Helio SE, daily showers, gear clean-

up, and basic ield sanitation is simple and quick.

The Helio SE comes in a small, neatly nested kit, weighs less than a liter owater, and provides 5 to 7 minutes o steady and satisying water pressure.

Unlike conventional gravity-ed, hanging shower systems, the Helio SE systemuses an 11 liter welded abric water tank pressurized by a oot pump.

To use the system, you simply ill up the water tank, let it warm in the sun,set the tank on the ground, then step on the oot pump a ew times. Pumpingoccasionally while showering maintains the water pressure.
