1st Vice President’s Report Dan McCoy 315 689-9397 [email protected]

The 2015 Northeast Area Rally (NEAR) is now in the record book and the New York Centrals were well represented in all areas and everyone knew we were there. Not to brag, but our chapter is a very highly respected group and you should be proud to say you are a New York Central. We served as volunteers and Bev Vrabel and Char Burrell conducted craft seminars. During the Chapter Fair, our display won 1

st Prize and in the judging of all newsletters we were also judged as 1

st Prize. Tavish McCoy our

grandson got up at 6 AM each day in search of hidden “Sheldon Cards”. His team took 1st

place winning $60.00. You will have to ask Rich to show you his newspaper “Gold Medal”. This year two grandchildren attended NEAR, Tavish McCoy (age 12) our grandson and Isaiah Burrell (age 11) Rich and Char’s grandson. Both kept busy in the youth program. They made bird feeders, tye-dye shirts, did ceramic painting, made sand art and played bingo and ladder ball. Isaiah and Tavish carried our chapter flag during the Parade of Chapters and sold popcorn and water during the evening entertainment. I know Tavish wants to go again. Consider bringing your grandchildren sometimes, as FMCA says they are our future members. FMCA president Charlie Adcock and senior VP Jon Walker conducted a very interesting and informative seminar about all the benefits of our membership in FMCA. It was announced but not yet official that the 94

th Family

Reunion and Motorhome Showcase will most likely be held next summer at the “Big E” in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The executive board has to approve it at Madison WI at the end of July, before the official announcement. Since the Northeast area will be the hosts, we will need a lot of NYC Volunteers so start making plans when it is officially announced. This month’s joint rally with the TIV’s in Waddington is fast approaching and I look forward to seeing a lot of you there. Bring your pirate clothes for the parade on Saturday. September’s rally is at the Herkimer Diamond Mine – KOA. Details are published in this newsletter with deadline for reservations August 28

th.

We are really behind the power curve, concerning next year’s rallies. We need you to step up and host or team up and co-host a rally. May, June, July/August are all open. We currently have September covered. Talk with Jim Wilson or myself and we can help you. On our WEB site there is a helpful guide for planning and conducting rallies.

Secretary’s Report Charlotte Burrell 607-753-8758 [email protected]

We had a great showing at the NEAR rally in Vermont. We won first place in the competition for best table at the Chapter Fair, and first place for the best newsletter. Looking at the other newsletters, it is clear that ours is far superior. Thanks to Bob Shaw for starting the newsletter format and to Rich Burrell for continuing the attractive and informative newsletter! Bev and I taught craft seminars that seemed to be well received.

At the rally, we became aware that Kenny and Cindy Smith were attending the International rally in Madison, WI. We asked Cindy to represent as our delegate and she agreed, so I sent paper work to FMCA which they accepted. Thanks so much Cindy!

We look forward to seeing many members at the joint TIV-NYC rally in Waddington next week and at Herkimer in September. We don’t have a rally set up for October. If someone wants to set something up, it still could be arranged.

We also need to finalize rallies for next year, so please step up or team up with another couple and plan a rally. It is really a fun experience, and many members are willing to help. Review Dan’s Rally Hosting and Guideline Kit under the NY Centrals Rallies icon on our website.

2nd Vice President Report

Jim Wilson 315-834-3044 [email protected]

We hope everyone that travelled to NEAR had a great time and safe travels. Wish we could have joined you! We are planning on attending the next rally in Waddington in a couple of weeks, and look forward to seeing our fellow pirates and wenches. Dolores and I have been working on trying to find a restaurant to hold the end-of-year luncheon, to be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Stay tuned for updates. Jim Wilson 2nd V.P.

Alternate National Director Steve Essler 585-705-8601 [email protected]

There were 207 coaches in attendance at NEAR, and thanks to Rich and Char the Centrals had a good time. I attended the Northeast area meeting at NEAR on Saturday, July 11

th. The open positions for Vice President were

filled with Tom Rec being re-elected and Dave Ellis elected to replace Bob McCormick. The International convention and NEAR for 2016 should be in Springfield Massachusetts. Bob Mills is the volunteer captain for the combined 2016 rally, to be finalized in Madison later this month. The treasurer’s report indicated the financial position is sound. Steve Essler
