    Introduction & Background.

    The Kalpitiya Area is an undeveloped area, But, which is having plentyof nature features to promote Nature Tourism through the surroundingof the area and the Indian Ocean.

    The Beach is having one of the largest coral bank in Sri Lanka and it iswell-known for dolphin, whales, sea turtles and different variety offishes.

    Kalpitiya is having preserved area for Mangrove Trees.

    The traditional fishing community living in the area is one of the goodopportunities to promote nature tourism.

    Action Plan

    First step of the CSR project will be implement in Bathalangundu Islandin Kalpitiya where the island is only accessible through boat service.One Information Resource Centre will be open for the followingpurposes

    To guide the tourists by providing information and to arrange boat trips.To form a committee among the local community to maintain the quality oftourism in area.To provide awareness on natural resources and how to protect them byprofessionals.To improve knowledge on HIV, Drugs, Alcohol and other prohibited activitiesby staging dramas and other communicating methods by professionals .

    To conduct vocational training programs by professionals for 20 youths tomake souvenirs/ ornaments by using local resources available.To provide training on tourism guiding, marketing, languages, safety & firstaid by professionals for 30 local villagers.
