REFLECTIONS – Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time - Usually, when we find life a continuous struggle and we become stressed out and depressed, we never think that the problem might be within us rather than circumstances around us. Jesus has told us what to do when we find life burdensome - come to him and be refreshed. There will always be problems and things we find difficult but they don’t have to overwhelm us. Take time to just sit with the Lord and pour out your heart to him. Ask for the grace to see clearly what you can do and to accept what you cannot change. A peaceful spirit will enable you to endure any storm.

“The Lord lifts us all who are failing and raises up all who are bowed down.” - Psalm 145:14

Send your kids on an imaginative, impacting adventure! At Maker Fun Factory VBS, kids discover not only that God made them the way they are, but for a purpose too. Maker Fun Factory is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Sciency-Fun Gizmos™, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the stand-out activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot! The fun starts Monday, July 17 and goes through Friday, July 21 from 9:00am and will end at 12:30pm. Call 365-3759 or go to vbspro.events/p/672498 to register your children for this life-changing adventure! Pre-registration is required, no regis-tration can be done at the Camp.

IS GOD CALLING? Is He calling You?

Today, we are taking up the collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). Your support helps the CCC connect people to Christ, here and around the world, through the internet, television, radio, and print media. Half of the funds we collect remains in our diocese to support local efforts. Be a part of this campaign to spread the gospel message and support the collection today! To learn more, visit www.usccb.org/ccc

Fr. Ed Degeyter Seminary Burse: The Office of Vocations is still collecting for the Burse in Father Ed’s honor. A seminary trust fund is to pay for the diocese’s annual cost of seminary formation. Currently, the interest from the trust pays 20% of this expense, while the remainder is supplemented by funds raised during the BSA Campaign. The goal of the burse is $15,000 which represented the total cost of a single seminarian when it was first estab-lished, although today the cost is $200,000. Please make the check payable to: Lafayette Diocese Office of Vocations/Fr. Ed Degeyter Burse # 407: Seminary Burse - Diocese of Lafayette 1408 Carmel Dr. Lafayette, LA 70501
