Suggestions:
• Flexibility to choose by states in any of the existing schemes and any funded new schemes.• Crop insurance should be voluntary for loanee farmers.• Robust structure of AWS in WBCIS.• Direct payment by insurance companies to AWS Providers to be avoided.• Provide manpower to implement crop insurance schemes effectively.• Premium rates should be as NAIS, rest burden should be bear by Governments.• Regular/seasonal trainings to all stake holders especially banks/district functionaries.• Infrastructures and manpower related to insurance companies should be increased at lower
level/unit level.• Transperancy in transfer of premium as well as claim fund.• Research products should be added with insurance schemes• Pilot project for estimating crop yields at plot level by remote sensing.• Clear cut instructions should be foreach products such as there is no proper detailed instruction
about crop failure.• Insurance should be supportive to the farming community and resulted in increase production.
