Saini, who had earlier supplied the draft questionnaire containing 1,718 questions running into 824 pages to the 17 accused, including Mr. Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and three top executives of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (RADAG), had fixed the matter for Monday. The special court, constituted to deal exclusively with the 2G scam related cases, is also scheduled to start on Monday the recording of statements of the accused, including promoters of Essar Group and Loop Telecom, facing trial in a case arising out of the probe into the radiowave scam. In the case involving Raja and 16 others, the court had on November 27 last year concluded recording of prosecution evidence after deposition of CBI’s Superintendent of Police Vivek Priyadarshi, the chief investigating officer, got over. In the case involving the promoters of Essar Group and Loop Telecom, the court had given a questionnaire to the eight accused having 645 questions each and running into 308 pages. Essar Group promoters Ravi Ruia and Anshuman Ruia, Loop Telecom promoters Kiran Khaitan, her husband I.P. Khaitan and Essar Group Director (Strategy and Planning) Vikash Saraf are facing trial in the case along with three firms — Loop Telecom Ltd., Loop Mobile India Ltd. and Essar Tele Holding Ltd. ‘Nee enge en Anbe’ one of Bollywood’s biggest hit till date is Vidhya Balan’s thriller ‘Kahaani’ and Shekhar Kammula a known Telugu director has remade the movie in this bilingual with quite a lot of inspiration and some twists that makes the movie still enjoyable. The movie stars Nayanthara as a lead, Vaibhav, Pasupathi etc.Nayantara, who steps into

Balan’s role as Anamika, arrives in Hyderabad from the USA and heads, like in remake, straight to the police station to report her husband’s disappearance. Her cabbie is amused by this; ‘ I have never taken anyone from the airport to the police chowki’, he quips to Anamika.A lot of what happens

thereafter – including her friendship with Sarathy (Vaibhav Reddy), the Tamil-speaking cop (in a city where Anamika has a language problem, because everybody talks in Telugu), her decision to stay in a seedy lodging house (because he r husband was there before he vanished) and the

‘nee engey en anbe’ - gripping thriller

way she is brutalised by law enforcement officer Khan (Pasupathy, who arrives from Delhi to investigate terror and the disappearance) -- has all been seen in Kahaani. There are some changes

in the film Nee Enge En Anbe : like a special task force humiliating Anamika in her hotel room, like Sarathy taking her to meet his mother and so on.W h a t h o w e v e r

d i sappo in ted in the movie were the mediocre performances. Reddy is a poor patch on Parambrata Cha t t e r j e e (R i tw i ck Ghatak’s grandson who played the part of the

cop, Satyoki ‘Rana’ Sinha in Kahaani, and befriends Bagchi). Nayanthara does his part well with his charming act.T h e c l i m a x i s

wonderfully shot and brings about the best in all technical aspects. Keeravani’s background score through the film is amazing, and grips the screenplay with some immense and pulsating bass effects, to mention the climax with the Durga pooja. The USP of the movie is screenplay and twist and turn in climax.Over all the movie

is family entertainer, watchable once for all.

Director Gareth Edward share with us about the making of Godzilla and technical aspects of the film.Godzilla an upcoming thriller movie which is gearing up to release next week. When you making a

movie about an icon like Godzilla, how did you approach shaping this character with all his personality and presence? ,Edward says ‘Yeah, it’s funny. At the start of the process I felt that in some way we could decide and control who Godzilla was. And a strange thing that came from it was that, as we went along, you start to realize that Godzilla was going to tell us who he was, just like actors who have their own take on their characters. Strangely, we couldn’t totally dictate what it was going to be. It was more about just trying different ideas and permutations, and, of all the options, there was always one that was strongest. And slowly he revealed himself to us. One of the conversations you get into with the animators quite often is they would say, ;If this was a real human, a real character, who would he be? And after thinking about it for a while, the thing we came up with was that he was sort of like the last Samurai. It was that idea of a lone, ancient warrior that would prefer to just not be part of the world if he could and be left alone, but

Godzilla, all the secrets to roar

events in the world force him to resurface. It was very interesting with all these ideas, even designing his look. We have a set of instinctive reactions to animals that have evolved over millions of years, and you basically try different things until you feel the right emotion when you see him. I wanted to get something that was very noble. And we tried the obvious things, like bear faces and dogs. But something that felt the most noble was a bird of prey, like an eagle. Eagles have their eyebrows very, very closeAnswe r i ng t o t h e

qu e s t i o n r a i s e d by journalists, Can you talk about the process of

finding his iconic roar for your film?, Yeah. And Erik Aadahl, who’s one of the sound designers, really has all the secrets about the roar. He won’t actually tell me how he’s achieved a lot of

the sound effects because often these things are achieved through the most bizarre ways. They’re not even animals sometimes, so he doesn’t want me to know because he thinks.

"They wait for me Oh Lord , " he whispered, "for words t h a t w i l l inspire and resound in their minds! G i v e m e

such words I pray!"He was flying back to his congregation, tired yet happy, that a great God had stood by his side as he'd defended his thesis and now had a doctorate to his name. And as he flew hour upon hour non- stop moving from one time zone to another his body stopped thinking, sleeping while others were awake and wide awake while others slept. "What oh Lord will I speak to them my people tomorrow?"I sat among his congregation, I his brother, that Sunday morning and I could see weariness writ on him, the fatigue of a body battered by travel technology. And then I saw the sparkle and heard his voice filled with

Divine moments!passion and I knew the Lord had taken over."Divine moments," he said. And in my mind I imagined his divine moments to be the time when he had been conferred his doctorate. "Divine Moments," he said again, "are when we hear God calling to us in the midst of a storm!""One minute Cecil!" I screamed silently, "those moments you talk of are not divine, they are dreadful horrible times you want to forget!""Peter in the midst of the storm, scared, petrified and then in the distance he sees a figure and calls out "Is it you Jesus? Can I also walk on the waves?"And Jesus said "Come""What a moment for Peter. In those frightful moments he saw opportunity to be with Jesus, in our scary moments is the same opportunity to be with the same Jesus. Those moments are divine!"And suddenly I heard loud and clear what God was saying, "Bob those moments when you are afraid, when you think all is lost, when you're down and out, when

you are rejected and betrayed, those are the moments we can walk on the waves together! That's the time you have to look beyond your treachery and dejection and you'll see me and hear my voice calling out, "Come!""Imagine the thrill of walking tall and secure on the very waters you were afraid off. Looking steadfastly at me, till you reach me and we walk hand in hand and the sea backs off, afraid of such power!Divine Moments!I had come to church specifically to congratulate him for his doctorate but as I stood in front of him and held my brother tight I knew God had revealed a simple truth that day and he had used simple words when mighty theology was expected. We hugged each other, and I thanked God that He had created Divine Moments through jet lag and fatigue to speak to His people that Sunday morning in June!

The WayfarerMan ought to remember

he is only a wayfarer in this world. The tought of this fact solves many problems in life.

The traveller should not dirty the road. If possible he many cleanse it. The road may be utilized but there should be no claim of ownership of it without stagnation. Wretched is he who thinks of permanent settlement here.

O mind, you have come into this world for training. Recieve it in plenty and hasten to the feet of the lord, your Goal.

Are you unable to sleep well? Do you wake up with a headache? Blame your food. Though stress and a busy work schedule are found to affect sleep, and you can control the sleep by watch-ing what you eat. Food that contributes to great snoozing includes dairy products like milk, curd, cheese and paneer. Whole grains, vegetables and pulses also are considered sleep-inducing foods. The calcium in milk also helps induce sleep. So go for a cup of warm milk on a stressfulf

day for a good night’s sleep. On the other hand, foods that tend to keep you counting sheep into the wee hours of the morning include fats and spices, the main ingredients of Indian cuisine. Caffeinated drinks like tea, coffee and co-las and chocolates fall under this category.

Chemicals in food that my cause people to nod off after dinner also plays a role in maintaining good mood and memory.

New Delhi, May 4:Young Karun Nair

cracked a brilliant un-beaten half-century to guide Rajasthan Royals to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Delhi Daredevils in their IPL-7 match at the Ferozshah Kotla stadium here.Nair anchored the Ra-

jasthan’s run-chase with 50-ball 73-run innings which was laced with eight boundaries and two sixes. The 22-year-old added 51 runs off 43 balls for the second wicket with Sanju Samson (34) as Royals overhauled the 153-run winning target with nine balls to spare.Earlier, opener Quinton

de Kock blasted 43 off 33 balls at the top, while JP Duminy provided the late charge with a 31-ball 39 to power Delhi Daredevils to a competitive 152-5 in their stipulated 20 overs

after Rajasthan skipper Shane Watson won the toss and elected to field.Defending 152, Wayne

Parnell dismissed Ajinkya Rahane (12) early in the innings with Murali Vijay pulling off a sensational catch at cover. But the early setback didn’t af-

fect Rajasthan’s runchase as other opener Nair and Sanju Samson (34) stitched together 51 runs off 43 balls for the sec-ond wicket. But their promising

partnership was cut short by spinner Shabhaz Nadeem off the last ball

of the 10th over when he deceived Samson with a tossed up delivery and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik did a good job behind the wicket to re-duce Rajasthan to 71 for two in 10 overs. Samson hit two boundaries and a couple of sixes in his 28-ball innings.Rajat Bhatia then joined

Nair and the duo picked up sixes off Unadkat and Rahul Sharma over extra cover and long on respectively as Rajasthan crossed the 100-mark in the 13th over.Bhatia was dismissed

by Mohammed Shami in the 15th over. But it didn’t have any

affect as Watson (16) and Nair then finished the job with an unbeaten 41-run partnership off only 21 balls. For Delhi, Parnell, Nadeem and Shami took one wicket each.

Mumbai, May 4:Defending champions

Mumbai Indians final-ly snapped their losing streak on the back of a collective batting effort as they defeated Kings XI Punjab by five wickets in an Indian Premier League contest, here.Kieron Pollard smashed

Sandeep Sharma for a six over long-off in the first ball of the final over as MI surged past Kings XI score of 168 for 5 by scoring 170 for five.Pollard remained un-

conquered on 28 off 12 balls and put on 44 runs in only 15 balls for the unfinished sixth wicket with Aditya Tare (16 off 6 balls) at the Wankhede Stadium.Prior to their quick-fire

partnership, MI were put on the victory path by significant contributions from opener C Gau-tam (33), skipper Rohit Sharma (39) and Corey Anderson (35).The dismissal of Shar-

ma and Anderson in successive overs brought Punjab back into the game but Pollard and Tare shattered their hopes. It was MIs first win in

six games. It was also

their their first game at home in this edition and they have now extended their winning run at this venue to nine since the last edition. It was Punjab’s first

defeat after a glorious winning streak of five out of five.Mumbai’s run-chase

started on a none-too-

promising note when they lost opener Ben Dunk in the fifth ball of the innings and also Ambati Rayudu to be down 33 for two.Dunk was caught bril-

liantly by a diving Wrid-dhiman Saha behind the wicket off by Sandeep Sharma who also ac-counted for Rayudu by

trapping the batsman in front with a ball that moved in sharply and also kept low.Chidambaram Gautam,

promoted in the order in yet another new open-ing combination for the title holders, and Rohit Sharma then repaired the innings with a stand of 47.After the power play,

MI were 49 for two and then advanced to 70 for 3 following the exit of Gau-tam who was dismissed by Rishi Dhawan.New batsman Ander-

son smashed a six off Dhawan over long on to make a good start. The left hander from New Zealand, whose highest score has been 39 batting at no. 3 against Chennai Super Kings, then hit left-arm spinner Akshar Patel for three fours and a six in the next the 13th to swing the game in MIs favour. out of the World Team Table Tennis champion-ships after they lost 1-3 against Brazil in the quarterfinals here. After a brilliant perfor-

been playing well, was unable to come to terms against Gui Lin, who made most of her rival’s mistakes at crucial junc-tions. Although Shamini won two games, she ul-timately lost 8-11, 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 7-11.However, Manika, who

is in the best form of her life, brushed aside the pressure and restored par-ity by beating Ligia Silva 13-11, 7-11, 11-4, 12-10. Playing an attacking game, Manika kept push-ing Silva to the brink. Ankita lost her singles to Caroline Kumahara 4-11, 8-11, 11-7, 6-11 without putting up much fight. Once again, the pressure was back on Manika, who had to play her reverse singles against Brazil’s No. 1 player Gui Lin.The Indian could not

Obama recently said America and Germany will engage in a cy-ber-dialogue to sort out differences over NSA’s controversial surveillance programme, as German Chancellor Angela Merkel conceded few difficult issues remain to be ad-dressed.Leaked documents by

Edward Snowden, an ex-National Security Agency (NSA) systems analyst contractor, had shown that the US allegedly indulged in phone and internet tapping of foreign leaders, including Merkel

Coimbatore, May 4:As a doctor or allied

medical professional, wou ld you l i k e t o expand your horizons and become a manager in the healthcare sector? An MSc in Health Sciences (Management) opens up new avenues and ensures rapid professional growth. It would prepare you to take on management roles in a variety of healthcare settings such as acute-care hospitals, long-term care facilities, c l i n i c s , ambu l a t o r y c e n t e r s , p h y s i c i a n prac t i ce s , pha rmacy chains, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, health insurance, healthcare consulting and research, and emergency services.According to Dr Lissy

Vadakel, director, MDIS School of Health and Life Sciences, medical professionals such as doctors , nurses and lab technicians are, of course, in great demand in healthcare and form the backbone of the industry. However, what many people do not realize is that there is an equally great demand for professional healthcare managers or administrators, not only in India but also worldwide. They are needed to work closely with the medical staff to plan, direct, and coordinate health services and keep heal thcare organisations running smoothly.Healthcare management

is an excellent career for those who enjoy leadership r o l e s a n d me e t i n g organizational challenges. It offers a good potential for growth and earning. The responsibilities of hea l thcare managers involve the following broad areas:Improve the efficiency

and quality of healthcare service delivery, Be aware of changes in laws and regulations that affect the facility, Supervise the finances of the facility, especially patient billing, Ensure efficient record keeping, Create work schedules for staff, Be the face of the facility to the world, Communicate with the medical staff

regularly,Countries are today

sc rambl ing to mee t healthcare challenges facing their communities. In the West, populations a re age ing , modern l i fes ty le has turned sedentary and unhealthy, and non-communicable diseases like cancer and diabetes have emerged as major threats. On the other hand, developing countries are getting richer and want to create better healthcare infrastructure for citizens to bring down the disease burden. This is boosting public and private expenditure on healthcare. The US had spent $2.8

trillion on healthcare in 2012, accounting for 17.2% of its GDP. Healthcare is the country’s second largest employer. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the US Government, the employment of medical and hea l th se rv ices managers in the country is projected to grow 23% from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all other occupations. The median annual wage for medical and health services managers in the US was $88,580 in May 2012.The Indian Government

has pledged to increase pub l i c spend ing on healthcare from 1% to 2.5% of GDP over the next few years. India’s healthcare system is developing fast in terms of geographical reach, scope of services and spending in both public and private sectors . Driven by the rising per capita income and rapidly urbanizing population, it is poised to grow at 15% CAGR to reach $158.2bn in 2017.Despite the bright future,

the fact is that India is hugely underserved by its healthcare infrastructure. The growth opportunity is immense due to the huge gap between demand and supply, which is driving significant investment into hospitals and services like diagnostics, pharmacies and equipment . The country has already

become a pre fe r red destination for medical tourists and a base for clinical trials. Needless to say, good management is critical in solving these increasingly difficult issues. In the last couple of

decades, many corporate chains of hospitals and pharmacies have emerged with an all-India footprint and t h e he a l t h c a r e industry is rapidly getting organized. Consolidation of healthcare players and emergence of bigger healthcare brands is a trend that is bound to accelerate, driving up the demand for healthcare managers in India.Heal thcare is also

getting more and more sophisticated, effective and expensive. Managing modern hospitals has become a very complex affair. They are not only places where patients come to heal, they are also full-fledged businesses. They grapple with the same corporate concerns and challenges like any other company. They have investors who expect returns. The management looks to maximize profits while being alive to the social responsibility of providing high quality healthcare at a cost that the society can afford. The operational goals of

hospitals and healthcare companies include optimal utilization of resources, minimizing operational c o s t s , m a x i m i z i n g operational efficiency, ambitious scaling of business, absorption of continuously evolving technology, and adoption of globalized quality s t anda rd s . A l l t h i s demands a dedicated m a n a g em e n t c a d r e comprised of professionals who unders tand the medical profession and can relate to doctors and patients well. Doctors wi th a management qualification are a natural fit to lead organizations in the healthcare industry. For those who do

not have the time or inclination to pursue a full- or part-time MBA cou r s e , a one - y e a r

degree in MSc in Health Sciences (Management) provides an attractive option. Students get to learn about quality and safety issues, the business, management and policy of healthcare services, healthcare technology and strategic and financial management in healthcare, while being sensitive to the demands and needs of patients. They get to hone their negotiation and leadership skills and develop the ability to solve complex problems facing the healthcare sector. The students are taught how to adapt to changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and technology.Career options include

corporate planning and development, materials and operations management, patient care and nursing administration, human resources and medical staff relations, Government and public relations and finance and marketing in healthcare. Many Indians prefer

to go abroad to pursue a specialized course such as MSc in Health Sciences (Management). Countries like the UK, the US and Australia have traditionally been popular options for higher studies. Singapore has over the las t few years also emerged as a preferred destination for acquiring an advanced education degree. It is nearer home to India and living costs are lower compared to the West, while educational standards are high and well-recognized all over the world. The course prepares students for management careers in the unique environment of healthcare, including jobs in health systems, h o s p i t a l s , c l i n i c s , eme rg ency s e r v i c e s management and allied fields. The degree is also appropriate for those seeking positions as p l anne r s , po l i cy analysts, or consultants focusing on the financing, organization, quality and delivery of health services in either the public or the private sector.

Ramanathapuram bypass road wi th approach ramps to the railway o v e r b r i d g e ( ROB) connecting Devipattinam and Kilakarai on the East Coast Road (ECR) which remained unused since April 2011 are set to be thrown open for traffic later this month.M.R. Hi-Tech Engineers,

which had taken up the rehabilitation project in July last year, completed the work as per designs and specifications of the Civil Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology-IIT (Madras) and Indian Institute of Sciences-IIS (Bangalore), appointed by the Tamil Nadu Road

Sector Project (TNRSP). “We have completed t h e c omp r e h e n s i v e r e h ab i l i t a t i o n wo rk and after finishing the ongoing black topping and concreting of footpath works, the stretch will be ready for traffic later this month-end or early June,” G. Ramakrishnan, Manag i ng D i r e c t o r , M.R.Hi-Tech Engineers, said.Once the stretch is

thrown open to traffic, congestion on roads in Ramanathapuram town will ease considerably as all vehicles coming from the southern districts could pass through the stretch on the ECR without entering the town. The approach roads

were made ready six

months before the railways completed the ROB in April 2011. But before the stretch was opened for traffic, the road got sunk after the retaining walls in both the sides started yielding. A Bangalore-based contractor had originally executed the project for the TNRSP.T h e M .R .H i - T e c h

firm was given nine-month project period but exceeded it by two months as it had carried out some addi t ional works, as suggested by the consultants from IIT-Madras and IISc-Bangalore after they had inspected the site on three different occasions, Mr. Ramakrishnan said.As part of strengthening

the retaining walls, both

the ends of the walls were tied with 32 mm rods at an interval of 1.5 m in bottom layer and 3 m interval in top layer, he said. In addition, cement concrete blocks were casted to a depth varying from 1 m to 2.8 m on both sides of retaining wall on the toe sides to strengthen the existing wall, he said. Before strengthening

the retaining walls, about 36,000 cubic metres of earth was removed from five metre depth and refilled.T h e r e h a b i l i t a t e d

approach ramps had 7.5 metre driveway with additional footpaths, he added.

Madurai, May 4:HR & CE authorities

have been striving hard to protect temple lands and one of the regular features of weekly grievances meet at the collectorate usually is petition by villagers and devotees demanding eviction of encroachers from irrigation tanks and temple lands. The issue poses a challenge indeed. However, the authorities

of Samayapuram Sri Ma r i amman t emp l e have taken up a series of measures to evict encroachers and protect temple lands. These lands were donated to the temple over a period of eight decades. An in-depth study

of immovable assets belonging to the temple conducted las t year

revealed that the temple owned about 70 acres of land in several parts in and around Samayapuram town. About 30 acres of it had been encroached.A s p e c i a l t e a m

c omp r i s i n g t em p l e employees and retired surveyors was set up for tracing the old records and documents and for measuring the extent of the land. The team culled out old records and registration details to come out with surprising information. One of the documents

pertained to a 2.25 acre of land donated to the temple in 1928. Fortunately, it had escaped the menace of encroachment.“In some cases, the

encroachers had built concrete structures that

inc lude smal l sca le industries, houses, and shopping complexes,” says G.Thennarasu, Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable E n d o wm e n t s , a n d Executive Officer of the temple. The study revealed that

several properties are located at different places in the then Samayapuram village not far from the Tiruchi-Chennai National H ighway. Wi t h t h e conversion of the NH 45 into a four-lane one, real estate trade has been witnessing a boom. The steps initiated by

the temple has come as a timely measure to protect these properties. “We have set up hoardings at these sites to check e n c r o a c hmen t s a n d

unauthorised registration,” says Thennarasu.Although hoardings

help temple authorities to protect encroachment-free sites, the problem is in respect with lands where the encroachers have filed cases in courts in Lalgudi and Tiruchi.According to devotees,

expeditious settlement of cases would go a long way in retrieving these sites.Devotees say tha t

Anti-Land Grabbing Cell should be involved in checking the menace .Registration Department

should also be alerted with survey numbers and other land record details to prevent illegal or unauthorised sale of temple lands.
