High Efficiency Offering high efficiency, deep multi-bed filtration at very high filtration flux rates, NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX are specifically designed to provide long, reliable service over a wide range of operating conditions. NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX has been designed to meet and exceed the theoretical efficiencies of an upflow filter with the additional advantage of being able to operate at much higher fluxes. The result is a more compact and robust unit. Large grain size, low density upper media is combined with a small grain size, density lower media to give true “in depth” filtration. Low Operating Costs and a SaferWorking EnvironmentBecause of the inherent reliability andefficiency of NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX,chemical requirements are minimized,downtime is reduced and a low level ofoperator assistance is needed. Thissubstantially reduces overall operatingcosts and offers a safer workingenvironment.
Lightweight Media FiltersNATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX give a 30% plusweight saving over conventional filtersand are designed for applications wherespace and weight are at a premium, suchas offshore platforms.
The Hiperfilter SFX Lightweight mediafilter design can be offered on newapplications and can also be utilised toupgrade existing installations whereincreased capacity is required, without theaddition of further vessels.
Oily Water TreatmentWhere produced water is to be treatedonshore, for reinjection into the oilreservoir or where the water is to bedisposed of into an environmentallysensitive area, the Hiperfilter SFX can beused for polishing. NATCO has a largenumber of such units in operationachieving free oil levels of below 5ppm atthe outlet.
Alternatively NATCO’s PowerCleanNutshell filter can be considered for thisduty (see separate brochure).

NATCO’s standard cleaning sequence is a ‘twice through’ programme, that ensures the filter bed is returned to it’s true clean condition. The backwashing sequence is precision controlled by an NATCO programmed PLC

Flexible ConfigurationsOn large capacity applications, typicallyover 300,000 bpd, approximately2,000m3/hr, where large banks of verticalfilters would be impractical, horizontalfilters are available. Engineered on thesame principles, high standards andefficiencies of NATCO’s vertical filters,
horizontal filters offer the customer aflexibility in configuration to meet theirspecific needs.
A Choice of MaterialsNATCO filters are available in a widerange of materials. For example, vesselinternals can be manufactured from 316L
