Labelexpo Europe

From 29 September to 2 October 2015, Labelexpo Europe, the world’s largest event for the label and package printing industries again takes place at Brussels Expo. Spanning from prepress to finishing, from inks to adhe-sives, and from software to state-of-the-art equipment, the exhib-its at Labelexpo Europe will bring together service providers, prepress companies, printers and converters, providers of ma-chinery and equipment, special-ist dealers and industry profes-sionals to discuss the latest technologies and trends, to watch product demonstrations and also make purchase deci-sions.

On show will be more than 600 manufacturers and suppli-ers of prepress and platemaking technology; digital and conven-tional printing presses; label and packaging materials; finishing

and converting systems; inspec-tion, overprinting and label ap-plication equipment; dies, cut-ters and rollers; inks and coat-ings; RFID and security solu-tions and software and interac-tive technology.

In addition, numerous semi-nars, workshops, presentations and special exhibitions will show ways on how to produce products in the future and will also introduce solutions for cur-rent problems. The Label Acad-emy Master Class is divided into “Digital label and package print-ing” and “Conventional label printing processes”. The “Print your future” feature area in the Patio Hall will advise on how to provide any label and packaging application with solutions from HP Indigo and partners. Experts explain how to break into new applications. In the brand inspi-ration area, the leading brands

will discuss how they are inno-vating with smart marketing campaigns enabled by digital technology. Visitors will be able to see the entire process from the concept and design stage, through pre-press, substrates range/flexibility printing and finishing capabilities.

The “Packprint Workshop” is again set to be one of the exhi-bition’s key attractions. It will give visitors the opportunity to enhance their product knowl-edge, understand the capabilities of the latest cutting edge tech-nologies and learn how to add scale to their existing business. It has been developed and host-ed in partnership with Nilpeter and Xeikon. During daily 30 minute workshops in Hall 8 (Stand A05), label converters will discover how to produce packaging using digital and con-ventional printing. Nilpeter will

demonstrate how to print flexible packaging and Xeikon will showcase carton printing. Being run twice daily at 11:00 and 15:00 for the first three days of the show and once on the fourth day, the workshop is compli-mentary to all show visitors.

This reflects the obvious shift in bias of Labelexpo Europe, as strengthening the focus on pack-age printing was already evident at recent shows. In 2015, pack-age printing will be a core subject and show floor and feature are-as will firmly put the spotlight on the lucrative commercial op-portunities package print pro-duction offers.

To make orientation easier for our readers, we have divided our Labelexpo Europe 2015 preview into six sections: “Prepress tech-nology”; “Conventional print-ing”; “Digital printing”; “Label materials”; “Inks and varnish-es”; and “Converting”. These sections contain information provided by the respective man-ufacturers up until the editorial deadline. New products are marked with a “H”.
