YEAR 6 FUNDRAISING Representatives of the Year 6 leadership team, Isobella Makeham, Tazmin Makeham and Dylan Edwards, worked alongside me at a Street Stall in Gundagai last Thursday, raising funds for the Year 6 fundraising initiatives. Thank you Darrell Edwards for his assistance on the stall and for helping transport larger items and thank you to Gai Derrick and Kay Makeham for donating items to be raffled. Raffle winners were: 1st – Amanda Fairleigh 2nd – Mavis Turner 3rd – Kande Ryan and Kevin Keogh was the winner of the 100 club. Thank you to all who supported our stall. Our Year 6 group have shown much initiative for and enthusiasm in fundraising this year amongst their overall excellent leadership. An article was in this Monday’s edition of the Gundagai Independent about their excellent leadership, fundraising initiatives and special picnic area which they created with Craig Makeham. Thank you to the families of our Year 6 students for their support throughout the year of the students’ fundraising initiatives and of school activities in general. The Year 6 group will have a special lunch and a swim at the Gundagai Pool tomorrow. Thank you to Michelle Makeham for assisting me with transport. I extend my very best wishes to our Year 6 group for their high school days and beyond. I hope they enjoy the variety of activities in the secondary settings and continue to be happy, successful citizens.

CONGRATULATIIONS JAMES Year 2 student James Smart has been awarded third place in the Member for Riverina, the Hon, Mr Michael McCormack’s Christmas Card Design Competition. This is a huge thrill and James will be presented with his award by Mr McCormack at a special assembly tomorrow morning, Thursday 15th December. James’ family members will be in attendance and all parents, caregivers and community members are welcome to attend tomorrow’s special assembly. James is a clever artist and this particular design was of a large 12 wheeler truck carrying a round bale with a banner message on the bale of “Merry Christmas to All. There is also a plane overhead with Santa doing a ‘gift drop’! It is truly delightful and very apt for our Nangus, Riverina and Australia! Congratulations James! We are also most grateful to Mr McCormack for travelling out to Nangus Public School to present the award in person to James. CLASS PARTY AND WATER FIGHT This Friday 16th December, the last day for students, we will be having a school party. Parents and caregivers are asked to send along an item to be shared at recess time. Thank you. Items could include; Doritos, chips, fruit, savoury biscuits, lollies or sweet items. Students are asked to bring their regular lunch and bottle of water. Students are asked to come ‘out of uniform’ on Friday. We will also be having water activities (water fight!!) on Friday afternoon. Students are therefore asked to wear suitable clothes for this activity. Swimming costumes would be a good idea to bring so students don’t have to wear wet clothes home, especially bus travellers. Students may bring along water pistols, etc but these are not to be used until the water activities begin under adult supervision in the afternoon. Please make sure any water toys have your child’s name on them. Please note it is not necessary that students bring along water pistols or water fighting toys as the school will provide some. There is no need to go and buy any. Looking forward to Friday’s fun- I love a water fight!
