SIDDHA - TRANSITIONAL CURRICULUM

Inaugural function was held on 03.03.2021, Chief Executive of Dr. Shiva Pharma services,

Dr. L. Sivakumar acted as the Chief Guest.

On 04.03.2021, A Brief Introduction about Modern Medicine and other system of medicine

was given by Dr.T.M.Shanthi, M.D(s)., and the students were taken to Department of Medicinal Botany

by Dr. K. Manjuparkavi, Asst. Professor, the exhibition of raw drugs and the medicinal plants in

garden inspired the students.


Dr. Navya, M.D., (ay)., gave an elaborate lecture on History of ASU on 05.03.2021,

Dr.Mohanraj, Dept. of Tamil, lectured about maathiraigal(syllabi), loan words and common words.

Students were taken to visit the Departments of Anatomy and Biochemistry by Dr.R. Kirubakaran and

Mrs.P.Sethumathi.


Dr.M.Tamizhinian, BSMS explained the improvement and need in ASU to students on

06.03.2021. The visit to department of physiology under the guidance of Dr.B.Kunthavi was conducted on

08.03.2021.


On 09.03.2021, Session was carried over by Dr.Babu, M.D(s).,Gowtham Siddha Clinic, Erode.

He motivated the students by his own clinical experience. A demonstration on First Aid was given to

students by Dr.R.Kirubakaran.


On 10.03.2021 (Day 7), The Students were taken over by Mrs.P.Kavitha and

Mrs. Shanmugapriya, Dept. of Comp.ScienceEngg. NCE, they lectured on computer skills – MS Word,

Excel, Powerpoint and Google classroom. Dr.K.Balasubramanian, M.D(s)., educated the students about

professional, medical ethics, work ethics, service ethics and nurals.


Students Interaction sessions were conducted on 11.03.2021 by Dr.Mohanraj, Dept. of Tamil,

students actively participated and shared their thoughts.,Dr. Murugesan, MD(s)., motivated the students

with career success stories. The activity based learning on Siddha History / Philosophy / Fundamentals

which was conducted by Dr.D.Leelambigai&Dr.K.Manjuparkavi on 12.03.2021.


On 15.03.2021 Mrs.P.Kavitha, Asst.Professor, Dept.of English, conducted skill based interaction

session. Yoga practice and relaxation session was conducted at conference hall by Dr. Priyanka, BNYS.

Mrs.K.Kavitha and Mrs.Shanmugapriya, Dept. of Comp.,conducted about advanced technologies to the

students.


On 16.03.2021, Dr.B.Kunthavi handled a session on National Health status, Goals and

Policies.A special guest lecture on “Pharmaceutical industries” was arranged. Dr.Shivakumar, Principal

Nandha College of Pharmacy. The topic of stress management and capacity building a lecture was given by

Prof.K.Gunasekar, HOD, Dept of Comp.Science, Engg.NEC.


Dr.YaminiPriyadharshini,pharmacovigilance center, Erode. she gave lecture about Duties,

Responsibilities, ethics, manners at workplace and patient psychology. The activities on the topics of

gender equality and nuclear or joint family were conducted by Mrs.Kavitha, Dept of English on

17.03.2021.


On 18.03.2021, Dr. Jerin subha, Assistant Professor, BNYS, Elaborated the importance of diet in

ASU. Dr. Suganthi, BSMS, Varma and Pancha Karma Specialist, Bhavani. She shared her experience and

how to manage the personal health and hygiene.


Mr. Apollo James, Administrative Officer, Nandha Indian System of Medicine, elaborated the

lecture on interpersonal relationship in health care team, learning skills, therapeutical communication,

professional ethics, work ethics, basic morals and values as a Siddha physician on 19.03.2021.


The students were taken to visit the Siddha medicinal Garden, (Central Government Medicinal

Garden of AYUSH),Mettur, Salem District. More than 200 Genus of medicinally used plants in Siddha and

their medicinal uses has been exhibited on 20.03.2021.

Nandha Naturopathy & yoga Medical College & Hospital, Erode, Tamilnadu.
